Best of Britain at Simeone Museum – 100 Years of Bentley

Annual “Best of Britain” three-week special exhibit returns to celebrate the centennial of Bentley Motors Limited, founded by W.O. Bentley in 1919. Bentley became widely known as a builder of premium luxury cars and has held that position for the last century, not to mention their legacy of racing heritage earned by winning the 24 Hours of LeMans in 1924, 1927-1930 and again in 2003. Popular vote show based on marque; also “Best of Show,” “Ladies Choice,” “Diamond in the Rough” and “Club Participation” awards. Voting ends at noon. Flea market area and car corral. Free T-shirts to first 40 pre-registrants. Free tours of Pennypacker Mills mansion included in registration. Food and beverage available, or bring your own picnic. Pennypacker Mills Historic Site’s “In The Good Old Summertime” Festival will be held adjacent to the car show field on the mansion’s grounds. Lots to see and do for the entire family including vintage big wheel bicycles, live music, and Victorian lawn games.

26th Annual British Motorcar Gathering – Pennsylvania

More than 200 vintage British sports cars will be on display when the British Motorcar Gathering is staged at Hellertown Reservoir Park, just south of Bethlehem, in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. The annual show features finely restored MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, Morgans, and Minis from every mid-Atlantic state. Classic British sports cars and sedans dating from the 1930s to present day will be displayed in a wooded setting, with separate areas for each make of car. Those registered will choose the top three examples of each class and model of car, with more than 50 awards to be made. There will also be a “Best of Show” award for the favorite car of the day, and a “Diamond in the Rough” award, given to a car which is still on its way to complete restoration. Cars of England Car Show and Jaguar Concours d’Elegance – Pennsylvania

Cars and Motorcycles of England returns again to the historic Hope Lodge in 2019, featuring an all-British marque judged motorcar and motorcycle Concours, and a nationally sanctioned Jaguar Concours d’Elegance. The combined show fields represent one of the largest British motoring shows on the East Coast with over 250 cars and motorcycles participating in each of the last four years. The show field opens at 8:30 AM and Judging begins at 10:00 AM. Prizes will be awarded beginning at 2:30 PM. Delaware Valley Triumphs sponsors the All-British show. In 2018 the show field included the following marques: Aston Martin, Austin, Austin Healey, Bentley, Daimler, Innocenti, Jaguar, Lancaster, Lotus, MG, Mini, Morgan, Peerless, Rolls Royce, Rover, Sunbeam, and, of course, Triumph. The 2019 Kimber Festival, sponsored by The New England MG T Register, will be held at the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia, PA.  Friday registration starts at 1 pm at the Simeone Museum. You’ll be able to do a museum visit before the flea market, dinner and Kimber birthday celebration. Saturday we’ll have our presentations at the Simeone Museum followed by a cash bar and dinner. Lunch will also be served during Saturday’s activities. Our host hotel will be the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Philadelphia Airport. We will have a special rate for all participants. Want to know more? This sports and exotic car show, which used to be known as “Cool Cars for Cats and Canines,” has been taken over by the AACA Museum and renamed “Cars 4 Critters” — but still benefits homeless animals. The top cars will be awarded trophies, judged by concours-level judges and local celebrities, in the following classes: German, American, British, Italian, Asian or European Union. Each class will have a “Best of Class” award, with one of those chosen as “Best in Show.” There will also be three People’s Choice winners. McLaren Opens North American F1 Service Center in Pennsylvania

McLaren Automotive is pleased to announce the opening of its North American McLaren F1 Service Center in Pennsylvania, United States. The new facility will offer maintenance and service on McLaren F1s located in North America, and is one of only two authorized service facilities outside of McLaren Special Operations (MSO) in Woking, United Kingdom. Operated by McLaren Philadelphia, the facility is separate from the main McLaren Philadelphia retail facility, located at a remote site in Pennsylvania, set up to ensure customer discretion and privacy. The North American McLaren F1 Service Center was designed to replicate the services provided by MSO at its headquarters in Woking and the staff has been trained by MSO in-house technicians on the complete F1 service experience, ranging from basic annual maintenance to full system refreshes and even major renovations.

One of the highlights of Grand Prix Race Weekend in Schenley Park is British Car Day, sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Triumph Association (WPTA). It features over 500 of England’s best sport and luxury automobiles. 2017 will mark the 37th year of this great event and the 31st year that it has taken place in conjunction with the PVGP in Schenley Park. During that time the WPTA has raised $144,000 for the Grand Prix charities! Located in the middle of the golf course it is the anchor of our International Car Show. British Car Day is the largest annual British-only car show in Pennsylvania whose proceeds have always been contributed to charity.
