The ABRR is based on UK Reliability Runs that benefit children’s charities in England. Begun in 2002 by Blake Discher of Detroit with help from John Macartney (In the Shadow of My Father, Turn Left at the Pacific), America’s British Reliability Run is a challenging, but fun, driving event that so far has raised more than $300,000 for worthy children’s charities. Carried on by the Delaware Valley Triumph Club of PA since 2008, the ABRR spirit is now spreading throughout the USA with multiple regional runs. The ABRR is not a race. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is a GO! Executive Director Dan DelBianco told us recently that it is deﬁnitely happening. The whole 10-day festival and the Historics at Pitt Race the weekend before. So British Car Day is also a deﬁnite go on July 24. You can now mark your calendar in ink. The 40th British Car Day, produced & sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Triumph Association, will be held again this year in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is ready to get “Back on Track” this year. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, presented by the Greater Pittsburgh Automobile Dealers Foundation, is the nation’s only vintage street race and the largest vintage race event, spanning 10 days with two race weekends, car shows, parties, parades, and motorsport events. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association raises funds for autistic and IDD charities, donating $5.9 million since our founding in 1983. In addition to racing, the event has so many different car shows that they created an overview section on their website just to help everyone keep them straight! More than 200 vintage British sports cars will be on display when the British Motorcar Gathering is staged at Hellertown Reservoir Park, just south of Bethlehem, in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. The annual show features finely restored MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, Morgans, and Minis from every mid-Atlantic state. Classic British sports cars and sedans dating from the 1930s to present day will be displayed in a wooded setting, with separate areas for each make of car. Those registered will choose the top three examples of each class and model of car, with more than 50 awards to be made. Cars and Motorcycles of England returns again to the historic Hope Lodge in 2019, featuring an all-British marque judged motorcar and motorcycle Concours, and a nationally sanctioned Jaguar Concours d’Elegance. The combined show fields represent one of the largest British motoring shows on the East Coast with over 250 cars and motorcycles participating in each of the last four years. The show field opens at 8:30 AM and Judging begins at 10:00 AM. Prizes will be awarded beginning at 2:30 PM. Delaware Valley Triumphs sponsors the All-British show. In 2018 the show field included the following marques: Aston Martin, Austin, Austin Healey, Bentley, Daimler, Innocenti, Jaguar, Lancaster, Lotus, MG, Mini, Morgan, Peerless, Rolls Royce, Rover, Sunbeam, and, of course, Triumph. The 2019 Kimber Festival, sponsored by The New England MG T Register, will be held at the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia, PA. Friday registration starts at 1 pm at the Simeone Museum. You’ll be able to do a museum visit before the flea market, dinner and Kimber birthday celebration. Saturday we’ll have our presentations at the Simeone Museum followed by a cash bar and dinner. Lunch will also be served during Saturday’s activities. Our host hotel will be the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Philadelphia Airport. We will have a special rate for all participants. Want to know more? The Simeone Museum’s February 23 Demo Day will feature driving demonstrations of five vintage British race cars: * 1921 Vauxhall 30/98E Velox Tourer * 1933 Squire Roadster * 1936 Aston Martin Le Mans * 1934 MG K3 Magnette * 1938 Jaguar 3.5 Litre SS100 The event begins with a brief lecture on each car’s importance and its place in history. Immediately after the lecture, each car is demonstrated outdoors in the parking lot in a controlled setting, weather permitting. (The event moves indoors in case of bad weather.) After the demonstration runs are complete, guests are allowed to see each car up close and take pictures. Admission is included as part of the regular General Admission price, and you don’t want to miss the annual “Best of Britain” exhibit that will be going on Feb. 10-March 3.
Annual “Best of Britain” three-week special exhibit returns to celebrate the centennial of Bentley Motors Limited, founded by W.O. Bentley in 1919. Bentley became widely known as a builder of premium luxury cars and has held that position for the last century, not to mention their legacy of racing heritage earned by winning the 24 Hours of LeMans in 1924, 1927-1930 and again in 2003. The British Car Club of the Lehigh Valley’s Autumn Leaf Festival is a relaxed, popular-vote show for all British marques and other foreign classic and exotic cars, held in conjunction with Moravian Academy’s annual Country Fair. Lots of entertainment, good food, rides, games, crafts, book sales and fun for the family at the fair while British car owners enjoy a day of laid-back camaraderie with their friends and their cars. Participation award for ALL cars, and commemorative dash plaques to the first 50 cars. Door prizes, too.

This sports and exotic car show, which used to be known as “Cool Cars for Cats and Canines,” has been taken over by the AACA Museum and renamed “Cars 4 Critters” — but still benefits homeless animals. The top cars will be awarded trophies, judged by concours-level judges and local celebrities, in the following classes: German, American, British, Italian, Asian or European Union. Each class will have a “Best of Class” award, with one of those chosen as “Best in Show.” There will also be three People’s Choice winners. The registration fee covers one car entry to the show, entry to Owners Tent and free breakfast, one admission to the AACA Museum, and show T-shirt, while supplies last.
