Update: The contest is now closed! We would like to congratulate Ray Whitley on his win which was determined at random from all entries received. We would also like to thank all of those who entered the contest. Entertaining stuff! I bet you didn’t know that July is my birthday month – well it is. But, I am going to give you the present. Aren’t I generous? We Leo’s are like that! Since this book is proving to be so popular, I thought you might like another contest chance to win a copy of Robert Morey’s Philosophy and Psychology of British Car Restoration. This is a great little book, and a fun read for any fan of old British cars. So, you might be asking yourself how you enter the contest. I gave a lot of thought to that and decided that […]
Congratulations to our winner! We would like to congratulate Bruce Cunha on his win of the book. Bruce, and you can read his comment below, drives an MG BGT as his everyday ride, which is great! Says his wife drives an SUV, and he has an MG TD under restoration. Sounds like a pretty good way to go. Look for our next contest coming soon. We haven’t had a competition for a while, and it is time to change that. What’s more, we would like to give some lucky ready out there a chance to own a copy of Robert Morey’s Philosophy and Psychology of British Car Restoration. You have heard us talk about the book, and you may have even read Bob Seidler’s excellent review, so now it is time for us to part with a copy and send it […]
Now that 2016 and December are behind us, I supposed it is time to reveal the winner of the last contest. If you will remember, that contest was a simple one – all that was required was to our new Discussion Forums, register and then leave a comment. That was it! The prize for this contest was the engrossing DVD set of The Standard Triumph Story. Without further adieu … the winner is … Martin Keller of Ventura, CA. We are contacting him as we speak so we can send the DVD set on out. Congratulations to Martin! Thank you to all those who entered! Make sure to check out the discussion forums!
Welcome to tthe Just British December contest. (Please insert trumpet fanfare as desired.) The way to enter the contest is simple and free – go to our new Discussion Forums, register, and then leave a comment. Yup, that’s it. You can post to an existing thread, such as the one about the contest, or start a new one of your own. It would be great fun if you would post an introduction to yourself and your car(s), but that is not necessary. Just register and leave a comment of some sort. But please, no spam. If you spam the forums your comment will be deleted and you will be banned. (Hate to have to say that, but it has already happened.) Commenting here doesn’t count! Has to be on the forums. The prize for this contest will be the great DVD set […]
Note: This contest is now closed! So, our November contest? Well, think about this. We all have those stories, those used-to-haves or near misses. We all can tell tales of “the one that got away.” Sometimes they are cars that would now be worth wheel-barrows full of money. Sometimes they are cars that saw us through tough times or good times or were just near and dear to our hearts. There are cars that we had that we had to let go of due to growing families, or career changes, or simple changes in fortunes. There are other cars that we almost bought but that slipped through our fingers or were snatched from our grasp. I used to have a yellow Triumph TR250. Sure it needed work, but it was solid and fun. But this was 1987 when I was […]
Just a quick post to announce the lucky winner of our Show Us You Sticker contest. And the winner is … John Huber of Maryland! As you will remember, the prize for this contest was a Meguiar’s Complete Car Care Kit. This should serve to get your ride shining for those Fall shows. I have used most, if not all, of the products in this kit and can personally attest to the quality. Though from the picture he sent, it looks like John’s B is already quite the shiner. In addition to that fine Just British Online Motoring Magazine sticker, check out the other bumper sticker. Love it! And even better than that, well to me anyway, check out that license plate. Must admit that I am quite jealous of that one. Honestly, I love getting these pictures and hearing the […]
Note: The contest is now closed and a winner chosen. Thanks to all those who competed. And you can still have your car and sticker featured in our gallery, so keep sending them in. Thanks! The summer contest is finally here, so you need to show us your sticker! Yup, that’s right, to enter this contest all you have to do is show us your Just British sticker (you do have one, right?) as it is attached to your car, motorcycle, motorhome, space shuttle, cooler, significant-other, or … well, just keep it at least PG rated. We love seeing our stickers on your cars out on the road and at shows, and so this is a chance for you to show off online. To enter, just do one of the following things …. Upload a picture of your applied sticker […]
Please note! The survey and contest are now closed. We will be posting the winner and some thoughts on the survey results soon. Thanks to everyone who participated!
UPDATE: We have a winner! Mr Steve Wincze of the Connecticut MG Club has been drawn by random number. I have a feeling folks attending the Gathering By The Sea in June will see this puzzle up for grabs. Congratulations to Steve and thanks to all of those who entered. A new contest will appear on the site soon, so good luck. Well here it is, the new contest. I told you that this one would be a puzzle, and it is! Yes, a true 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle produced by Ravensburger and title, “Car Boot”. A boot sale, of course, is basically a flea market held out of the boot of cars. So with this distinctly British puzzle, you will see all sorts of British cars, vans, trinkets and other memorabilia. It is honestly a feast for the eyes […]
NOTE: This contest is now closed and Thomas Inwood is the winner. A new contest will be coming soon!
UPDATE: Comments and the contest are now closed because we have a winner! Yes, out of all the entries Frank Stabler was selected through a random drawing to receive the prize. Congratulations Frank! Last year, at Sir Stirling Moss‘s suggestion, Porter Press reprinted their most popular Scrapbook documenting his amazing 1955 year which of course included the Mille Miglia win and first GP victory. And we are having a contest to give one away. The 1955 Stirling Moss Scrapbook is now back in stock to commemorate sixty years of this crucial year for the racing driver. The first of a series of Stirling Moss scrapbooks which now includes as separate volumes 1926-54, 1956-60, and 1961, the 1955 Scrapbook evokes memories of the heyday of classic motorsport. We covered this book when it came out back in July, and were sent one […]
