Morgan Motor Company is pleased to announce that it will lead a £6m project to develop new powertrain technologies, in collaboration with UK companies Delta Motorsport and Potenza Technology. With funding from the UK’s Advanced Propulsion Centre, the consortium will develop hybrid and electric powertrain systems which will significantly reduce vehicle CO2 emissions and deliver best-in-class fuel economy. The technologies developed through this project will be introduced progressively on Morgan’s range of hand-built sports cars from 2019, with hybrid propulsion available on all of its models by the end of the decade. The advantages in terms of performance, fuel economy and refinement are expected to increase demand across its most important markets in UK and across Europe. Morgan is teasing us with the release of their AR Plus 4. Here is what the teaser release said… Morgan are excited to announce that the new AR Motorsport developed Morgan AR Plus 4 will be launched on the Morgan stand at the Silverstone Classic this Friday 24th July at 1200hrs. To celebrate 65 years of the Morgan Plus 4, 50 limited edition AR Plus 4 models are to be produced by AR Motorsport, Morgan’s racing division. Powered by a 225bhp Cosworth engine, the AR Plus 4 is the most powerful 2.0 litre Morgan ever produced. Full images and information on the car will be released this Friday. Significant visual and mechanical changes make the 5th generation of this iconic model the most refined Morgan Aero product to date. Morgan has given us a kind of glimpse of the new Aero 8. Not much really, but enough to keep us on the edge of our bucket seats. To quote the email announcement, “Only a few days left until we announce the latest evolution of our iconic Aero Range of vehicles at the 85th International Geneva Motor Show. Join us on the 3rd of March for the unveiling of the new Aero 8.” We can’t wait to see it! Any new Morgan is a cause for celebration.
The Morgan Motor Company has sent out notice that a new Morgan automobile will be unveiled at the March 3, 2015, Geneva Motorshow. A teaser video put out by Morgan can be seen on YouTube. It doesn’t provide any real information but does provide a view of the seats and the sound of the exhaust.

As you might guess, the video focuses on the Morgan Motor Company in Malvern, England where happy designers, craftsmen and women lovingly create cars for enthusiasts by hand every day. Perhaps this brief history of the Morgan car is best summed up by its inventor, H.F.S. Morgan, who said of his life’s work shortly before he died in 1959, “looking back through the years, seeing both the errors and the triumphs in their correct perspective, I feel I have enjoyed it all. There is a wonderful article on the Moss Motoring site about a tour through the factory that has been producing Morgans since 1919. To understand the circuitous path that a Morgan car travels, from Malvern Link to your driveway, we were lucky enough to have a docent to shepherd us through the process.
