2018 Atlanta Concours d’Elegance

According to Bill Wallet, CEO of the Atlanta Concours, this third year marks a near trifecta for the organization as it offers the ability to reach out beyond the local and regional focus, gaining support and entries from globally renowned car collections such as the Evergreen Historic Automobiles collection; further growth and support from manufacturers and local dealers — beginning with Porsche adding the Atlanta Concours to its 70thanniversary celebration of events and taking on the lead marque for the event; and the creation of an all-new mobility area that will not only showcase vendors and sponsors bringing utilities such as all-terrain wheelchairs, but of more importance working with the Shepherd Center to provide appropriate equipment for disabled veterans and those that are handicapped to make the Atlanta Concours a truly accessible show.

Keith Martin Moderates at Atlanta Concours

Keith Martin, head judge for the Atlanta Concours, host of Velocity Channel’s ‘What’s My Car Worth’ and publisher of Sports Car Market magazine, will be adding another role to his list of outstanding accomplishments, as moderator of the upcoming ‘Market Trends’ panel discussion on Saturday, September 30th, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am in the Celebrity/Tech Session building at Chateau Elan, to kick-off the Atlanta Concours d’Elegance weekend of festivities. However, it will be the insight gleaned from each of Martin’s panelists: Corky Coker, Melanie ‘Lilly’ Pray, John Merritt and Jim Grundy, where the real learnings will be provided – as the commonality for each – beyond their own acknowledged industry stature – was gained through each of their own entrepreneurial roles within the industry and the key learnings they have fostered to find success through the past decades.

VehicleDNA to be Featured at Atlanta Concours

While DNA factors can often find the answer to our own health concerns, what about utilizing similar statistics to maintain the health of a collector car? The Atlanta Concours has entered a multi-year partnership with Alpharetta-based VehicleDNA, an engine, and transmission testing company that provides a complete analysis of all engine and transmission fluids, to offer collector car owners the reassurance of knowing the current health of their vehicle. All registered cars for the Atlanta Concours will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary fluid analysis throughout the weekend, September 30-October 1st, (a $75 value), and receive a detailed assessment of a component’s condition, as well as recommendations for addressing potential problems within 48-72 hours.

This report has come in from Eric Gibeaut on the Sunbeam Tigers East / Alpines East United meet that was held in Atlanta a couple of weekends ago. We had a great time at our United Sept 8-11. 70 Sunbeams from all over the USA were there, and we had our concours in conjunction with the Atlanta British Car Fayre on Sept. 10. The location was the small town of Norcross which shut down all of their streets to host several hundred British cars which were parked in front of the local shops and restaurants. Really a unique car show with perfect weather! Our club also had several local driving tours to various points of interest as well as an autocross with awards presented at the banquet on Sunday night. The following photo is the Hagerty Insurance Company’s MKII Sunbeam […]
