Bentley Motors is launching its 2019 Apprentice recruitment campaign with 51 new positions to start in the autumn of 2019. Opportunities cover areas including Digital, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Purchasing, as well as Engineering and Manufacturing. The structured digital career path will offer technical, academic and hands-on experiences to support the digital transformation of the company. Dr. Andy Palmer, President and Group Chief Executive of Aston Martin Lagonda, today announced plans to create the Palmer Foundation, a privately-funded programme to create industrial apprenticeship opportunities for young people in the UK. Andy Palmer, who began his own automotive career as an apprentice, has undertaken to fund the scheme, which will also be supported by existing shareholders, members of the senior management team at Aston Martin Lagonda and Hitomi Palmer, wife of the CEO.

Since the program was launched in 2006, numbers have progressively increased, with 2018 offering a record 24 candidates the opportunity to join the team at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex. The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Apprenticeship Program provides the opportunity to learn and develop skills at the Home of the world’s leading luxury manufacturer. The apprenticeships last for up to four years and include college and university courses that are nationally recognized, alongside on-the-job training at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Applications are now open at www.bentleycareers.com until November 27th, with vacancies covering commercial areas including Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Purchasing, as well as the traditional Engineering and Manufacturing opportunities.
An innovative historic vehicle restoration course and apprenticeship scheme is moving to Bicester Heritage, the centre for automotive excellence based in Oxfordshire. The course, run by Active Learning and Banbury and Bicester College, equips students with the skills they need to go on to a career in the historic motoring industry. The move to Bicester Heritage means that they will be able to study in a supportive environment surrounded by businesses and experts practising the skills that they are looking to emulate.

Jaguar Land Rover has launched its recruitment drive for over 200 apprentices to join the company in September 2016. The Government’s Skills Minister, Nick Boles, praised the UK’s largest automotive apprenticeship provider saying: “Jaguar Land Rover is playing a leading role in backing the next generation of highly skilled workers. Aston Martin’s bold Second Century Plan for global growth and development is benefiting young job seekers, with news of more opportunities to join the business in sought-after apprenticeship roles. The luxury British sports car maker – which currently employs almost 40 young apprentices across a wide variety of functions at its modern factory and global headquarters at Gaydon, Warwickshire – is today announcing ten more apprenticeships in a selection of priority positions.
