Sunbeams United International  (SUNI) has been a tradition, usually every five years, attracting Sunbeam owners from all over North America and beyond. The most recent was held in 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and was a tremendous success, with attendees coming from as far away as Florida, Atlanta, and British Columbia. A group of six Sunbeam owner clubs began last year exploring hosting SUNI VII: , Tigers East/Alpines East, Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association, California Association of Tiger Owners, Colorado Association of Tiger Owners, the Pacific Tiger Club, and the Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club of America. Speakers and Attractions Author/historian John Nikas, and former Rootes engineer Mike Jones are lined up as guest speakers. 107th Gathering of the Faithful (GoF) for MG T series cars.  First time being held on Long Island. Visit the original street racecourse in Bridgehampton, NY plus what remains of the world-famous Bridgehampton Race Track. GoF 107 will be based at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Riverhead, New York, where the twin forks of eastern Long Island diverge. Among the events and attractions planned are the following: Wine tour of the north fork of Long Island, home to over 30 working wineries. Radford has unveiled the Type 62-2 sportscar. The Lotus Type 62-2 coachbuilt by Radford (The Type 62-2), the first modern coachbuilt Radford, is limited to just 62 examples worldwide.

It is with much sadness that we learned today of the passing of author, inaugural British Sports Car Hall of Fame member, and all-around good guy Graham Robson.

The Collier Cup is named for Collier Brothers – Sam and Miles – MG who were largely responsible for bringing MG’s and British cars to the US.  They were part of the post-war road racing group that started at Watkins Glen in 1948.  Sam was killed at Watkins Glen in 1950. [Ed: See noted corrections below.]  Watkins Glen will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the MG Vintage Racers (MGVR). The pairing of our 40th birthday and the renewal of the Collier Cup’s 36th birthday promises to be a weekend of celebration. The race is in conjunction with the SVRA Vintage Grand Prix.

Salon Privé Week is renowned for being a celebration of two-wheeled machinery as well as four, and this year Blenheim Palace will host the world debut of a unique and hugely significant Triump motor bicycle.

MG Motor has achieved another best month for market share in July, taking nearly 2% of the UK car market – a record for the brand. The company’s year-to-date figures are now up a massive 67.5% in a market that has risen 24.7%. This means MG Motor has retained its position as the fastest-growing mainstream brand in the industry and has overtaken well-known marques including Fiat, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, and Jaguar.

The Texas MG Register’s Fall Gathering of the Faithful will be October 14-17 in Palestine, TX. This event will also be a North American MGA Register Regional Meet so we expect more MGA’s than usual.
