We love reading the stories of people and their cars, so we have decided to start running some reader profiles. This is kind of like our sticker gallery but goes a step further to really focus on the people and cars behind the picture. Our first profile comes to us from Bill and Joanne Burroughs of Vista, California. Bill and Joanne have a 1968 TR250 and a 1970 TR6.
Celebrating 60 years of the MGA and Triumph TR3 All British cars are invited to participate. Come out and spend the day — live entertainment — beautiful cars — and food!
For the Mini/MINI owners the 36th Annual Mini Meet West will take place in San Diego June 6–9 2016. Mini Meet West is an annual gathering of fans of the classic Mini manufactured from 1959 to 2000 (including variants such as Mini-based Wolseley / Rileys, Innocenti / AUTHI, etc.) and the modern BMW MINI that is currently in production. A group of West Coast clubs held the first U.S. Mini Meet in Reno, Nevada back in 1973. There were 43 paid registrations at the first meet. Eventually, the Meet became known as the 1st Mini Meet West after the start-up of the Mini Meet East events in 1975. Registration at http://minimeetwest2016.com

The San Diego British Car Club Council (SDBCCC) was founded in 1980 by Bob Segui who was then the San Diego Austin Healey Club’s Activities Chairman. It was Bob’s intention for this council to provide the area British marque clubs with a forum to exchange information and ideas as well as to share events. And so the newly formed SDBCCC organized an end of summer all British marque picnic. The first event was held at Dos Picos Park and attracted about 130 cars. San Diego British Car Day is open to anyone with a British marque car. Although the Council officially consists of clubs representing Austin Healey, Bentley, Jaguar, MG, Sunbeam and Triumph, you will find any manner of other British marques including Hillman, Daimler, Jensen, Metropolitan, Ginetta, Morgan, TVR and Land Rover. What you will not find is BMW, […]

A little something different this week. Our Video of the Week this time is of a great looking British car shop on the US West Coast. Unfortunately, I have never been there, but I have been in enough other shops to recognize and impressive setup when I see one. In this video, Justin Jurgens takes you on a tour of British Sports Cars in San Luis Obispo, California. You can check out the shop’s website at http://www.britishsportscars.com. As I said, I have never been to the shop and have never met anyone associated with them. However, I think that the video and the website are both top-notch, and the type of quality we need more of. If you know these folks and or have some experience with the shop, please let us know about them in the comments below.
Each year, five big West Coast Triumph clubs get together to hold a major event they call Triumphest. And every year, the Vintage Triumph Register holds its national meet, called the North American Triumph Challenge. This year, the two events will join together in San Luis Obispo, California, for one giant weekend of Triumph fun, from September 30 through October 4. Called Triumphest 2009, the event has all the makings of the largest gathering ever of Triumphs in North America. The event has everything you would expect, and some things you might not. Of course there’s a concours, with every variety of sporting Triumph, as well as an autocross, a funkhana, tech sessions, a time-speed-distance rally and a rally that’s just for fun. There’s also a Le Mans start contest, a “walking rally” through lovely San Luis Obispo, dinner cruises […]
