The McLaren 570S GT4 race car completed the most successful season since launch during 2019, ending the year on a high taking a 1-2 finish at the Gulf 12 Hour at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi with four graduates of the Pure McLaren GT Series and Customer Racing team Balfe Motorsport. With three series titles and victories scored in each of the championships contested during the season, the development programme has continued to progress. From here, McLaren Customer Racing has refreshed the 570S GT4 for the 2020 season which includes a new optional brake kit with a greater focus on longer endurance events.
The 570S GT4 scored McLaren a historic result at the Daytona International Speedway racing in the inaugural Michelin Pilot Challenge race (formerly Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge), with GT4 customer team Compass Racing and McLaren Automotive Factory Driver Paul Holton taking victory and Motorsports in Action securing the final podium spot. The result marks the first win of 2019 for the 570S GT4 and Holton, as well as the first ever win for McLaren at the world-famous Florida circuit. A strong performance during qualifying saw Holton secure the perfect start for the inaugural round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge, setting a new lap record and pole position for Compass Racing ahead of the four-hour endurance race. The result marked an eighth career GS pole and a record fourth consecutive pole position in the class for Factory Driver and Florida-local Holton.
Joe Osborne’s first win as a McLaren Automotive Factory Driver was the headline in what turned into one of the most successful weekends in McLaren’s British GT Championship history, the 570S GT4 scoring both class wins and podiums at Snetterton. In the first race on Sunday morning, Osborne led home a one-two finish for customer Tolman Motorsport and the McLaren 570S GT4. Osborne’s car, which he shares with David Pattison, started the race sixteenth but quickly climbed the order to tenth before the safety car was called into action just a handful of minutes before the pit window opened. With the field bunched up, and the opportunity to pit coming under safety car, almost the entire field came in including Pattison, who handed over to Osborne.
McLaren North America is celebrating a significant milestone in the automotive sportscar and supercar brand’s short yet illustrious history, with the delivery of its 5,000th car in the North American market. The 5000th car, a Silica White 570S Spider, was delivered this week to California-based customer Dr. Gary Leach. McLaren Automotive retailed its first vehicle in North America in December 2011 and in less than seven years already represents more than a third of McLaren’s global sales tally. Debuting in the U.S. in 2011 with the McLaren MP4 12-C and followed soon after by the 650, 675LT and the iconic McLaren P1TM supercars, McLaren saw steady growth that doubled in 2016 following the introduction of the 570 Sports Series line up. 2017 was another very successful year for the brand, and the region, with the addition of the 570S Spider and the Super […]

McLaren Sports Series models will benefit from greater choice of specification and an upgraded range of options as McLaren introduces new features and enhances its Coupé and GT models to align with the 570S Spider launched last year. The 570GT enjoys the most changes, with carbon-ceramic brake discs now standard-fit and a Sport Pack also introduced, allowing customers to specify a 570GT with the same dynamic settings as the 570S Coupé and Spider. As the most luxurious and refined Sports Series model, the 570GT offers a more relaxed drive than the 570S Coupé; suspension spring rate stiffness is lower and there is a 2 percent reduction in steering ratio for improved stability at higher speeds. McLaren owners wanting a car tailored towards a GT driving experience have welcomed this blend of attractions, but there have also been requests for the […]
Adding to the list of race wins and podiums already secured in the first year racing with customer teams around the world, the McLaren 570S GT4 has now achieved multiple championship success over the past two weekends. Customer teams contesting the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GTS series, GT4 European Series Northern Cup, Swedish GT Championship and the British GT Championship have taken debut titles for the McLaren Sports Series model. The maiden title for the 570S GT4 came while competing in California, USA, where GMG Racing secured the PWC GTSA class title with a race to spare at the season-closing weekend at Sonoma Raceway. GMG driver George Kurtz held a 51-point lead in the class standings heading into the weekend and he secured the championship in his rookie season by finishing Saturday’s sprint race. His results throughout the season had […]
The new McLaren 570S Spider combines the exceptional dynamism and refinement of the 570S Coupe with the extra exhilaration of open-air motoring. Hand-assembled in Woking, England, the 570S Spider is the most attainable McLaren Spider ever and brings supercar attributes such as carbon-fiber construction, a mid-engined layout and extreme performance for the first time to the luxury sports convertible segment. Compared to the Coupe, the 570S Spider adds a neatly integrated, retractable hardtop that when lowered delivers an even more immersive and exhilarating driving experience. The two-piece roof – which is engineered using technology proven in the McLaren 650S and 675LT Spider models – is constructed of lightweight composite panels and creates a purposeful, sleek appearance […]
