The McLaren 570S GT4 continues stellar debut full season

The maiden title for the 570S GT4 came while competing in California, USA, where GMG Racing secured the PWC GTSA class title with a race to spare at the season-closing weekend at Sonoma Raceway. GMG driver George Kurtz held a 51-point lead in the class standings heading into the weekend and he secured the championship in his rookie season by finishing Saturday’s sprint race. His results throughout the season had seen the 570S GT4 win eight consecutive races prior to making the trip to the west coast of the United States.

Hours later in Europe, Las Moras Racing achieved the same feat, claiming the GT4 European Series Northern Cup Pro-Am championship with the 570S GT4, in what turned out to be a gripping season finale at the world-famous Nürburgring. The Las Moras Racing 570S GT4 claimed six podiums and two class wins throughout the season, racing in six European countries as part of one of the world’s largest traveling GT4 grids, with more than 30 full-season entries.

The third title for the 570S GT4 was taken in the Swedish GT championship by ALFAB Racing. Recording their eighth victory of the year from 10 starts, the driver pairing of Daniel Roos and Erik Behrens sealed the GTB class title.

This past weekend, the string of results for the 570S GT4 continued at the British GT Championship series finale racing in the UK. After a switch to the 570S GT4 mid-season, reigning GT4 champions PMW Expo Racing/Optimum won the GT4 Pro-Am title in style, with Graham Johnson and Mike Robinson taking the top step of the GT4 podium at Donington Park. Taking the duo’s first win of the season and the Pro/Am honors, the points haul also secured the team second in the overall GT4 points standings.
