The races were held back in the early 1950s through about 1962 or so with perhaps a year or two omitted. The races were originally conducted on the public roads on the small island in Lake Erie just north of the north coast of Ohio. The races were re-invented about 10 years ago. But rather than racing on the public roads they now race on a temporary race course set up on the airport runways and taxiways. Racing classes are designed to bring in mostly 3.0 liter and smaller engine race cars. And they restrict vehicles to those built before 1970 (generally). I have spectated and more recently now serve as a safety team representative (tow disabled race cars off the track). Our 17th annual show has a new venue! We searched hard to find the perfect place. A place where you and your family can enjoy the cars and much, much more! We are sure that we found it and hope you agree. Skippack Village, located on Route 73 just east of Route 113, is our new home. Our festival show field is in the center of town, surrounded by shops, boutiques, and crafters of all kinds. Enjoy a snack or grab lunch in the village, then stick around after the car show for dinner in one of the many restaurants – simple to high-end. Round out your day by taking in a show at Playcrafters. Keep the fun going all weekend by staying in one of the limited rooms that are available at the Hotel Fiesole.
