It is not a test of top speed. It is a test of a driver/navigator team's ability to follow precise course instructions and the cars (and teams) ability to endure on a cross-country trip. The course instructions require the competing teams to drive at or below the posted speed limits at all times. Each day the driver and navigator team receives a set of course instructions that indicate every turn, speed change, stop, and start that the team must make throughout the day (usually 220 to 250 such instructions per day). New England British Reliability Run 2021
Begun in 2002 by Blake Discher of Detroit with help from John Macartney and based on similar events in the UK, the ABRR is a three-day drive for charity in British cars. It is not a race and is run on public roads at posted speeds. It is not a rally as there are no checkpoints or deliberately vague instructions. It is an endurance test of sorts, intended to be challenging but fun for the participants, and to see just how reliable these supposedly “unreliable” British cars really are. 2021 American British Reliability Run – PA Edition
The ABRR is based on UK Reliability Runs that benefit children’s charities in England. Begun in 2002 by Blake Discher of Detroit with help from John Macartney (In the Shadow of My Father, Turn Left at the Pacific), America's British Reliability Run is a challenging, but fun, driving event that so far has raised more than $300,000 for worthy children's charities. Carried on by the Delaware Valley Triumph Club of PA since 2008, the ABRR spirit is now spreading throughout the USA with multiple regional runs. The ABRR is not a race. Drive It Day – UK
UK , United KingdomDrive it Day is the Historic Vehicle Movement’s National Awareness Day and falls this year, on Sunday 24th April 2022. As well as raising awareness and support for the future of the historic vehicle movement by getting our transport heritage visible on the UK roads altogether for one special day, the event also raises money for NSPCC's Childline. National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organized in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. 37th Annual British Car Day – Charleston, SC
Palmetto Islands County Park 444 Needlerush Pkwy, Mt Pleasant, SC, United StatesCharleston's long-running British Car Day attracts British cars from Florida to Ohio. The show is on a grassed field surrounded by Live Oak trees. The show attracts cars from a 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost to a 2018 McLaren 720S along with Triumph's, MG's, Austin Healey's, Aston Martin's, Jaguar's, Bentley's, and British motorcycles.
