Following the very successful first Columbus British Car Show in 2019, the Peachtree MG Register is getting ready for the 2021 edition. We have plans to make it bigger and better than before, with more space for social distancing and activities for all tastes during the whole weekend. All of us hope that by the time September rolls around, Covid-19 will be manageable and we can enjoy our British cars again. From our side, we’ll put everything in place to make Brits in the Valley happen safely. And if that isn’t possible, we’ll do it another time. Columbus, and the location of the Marriott hotel, is very family-friendly with interesting and fun things to do for all ages, incl. the downtown Whitewater Express with kayaking, tubing, and a zipline across the river into Alabama. The Ohio Chapter GOF XCV (95) is Friday-Sunday, September 24-26 on the Marblehead peninsula of Ohio, on beautiful Lake Erie. The GOF (Gathering-of-the-Faithful) follows the increasingly popular Put-in-Bay Road Race Reunion annual event. (More information and separate registration can be found here -- participation at race week at PIB is not necessary to attend the Ohio Chapter GOF, they are completely separate events.) Texas All British Car Days is a full weekend in Austin TX. It starts on Friday, September 24 with a happy hour and runs through Sunday, September 26 with a show and shine. On Saturday there will be a rally, a drive to a winery, and a catered dinner. We expect up to 200 cars and their families from all over Texas. More details are available at www.txabcd.org. The 3/4 Morgan Owner’s Group (https://www.morgan34.org) is holding its annual blowout in Saratoga Springs 1-2-3 October. The event includes a rally, an autocross, a concourse, and various social and hospitality events, including an awards dinner on Saturday evening. After a year off, the Central Coast British Car Club is as ready as you are to get back to one of our favorite things – car shows. We’ve decided to move our CCBCC All-British Car Show to the fall to give a little more time for the world, or at least California, to return to normal. It will be the same place as always at Channel Islands Harbor Park in Oxnard on Sunday, October 3rd. Annual all-British car show held at a wooded park just south of Allentown attracts more than 200 cars from all over the mid-Atlantic. This is a special post-COVID fall version of the show usually held in June. All makes of British cars and motorcycles, old and new, are welcome. Registration is $15 in advance by September 27, $20 at the gate. The field opens at 9 a.m., the show opens to spectators at 10 a.m. See the website for online registration, directions, more information. NO POPULAR-VOTE JUDGING THIS YEAR as we come back from the COVID-19 pandemic and regroup. There will be some special awards given out, though, to cars selected by a club committee. 107th Gathering of the Faithful (GoF) for MG T series cars. First time being held on Long Island. Visit the original street racecourse in Bridgehampton, NY plus what remains of the world-famous Bridgehampton Race Track. GoF 107 will be based at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Riverhead, New York, where the twin forks of eastern Long Island diverge. Among the events and attractions planned are the following: Wine tour of the north fork of Long Island, home to over 30 working wineries. The Texas MG Register’s Fall Gathering of the Faithful will be October 14-17 in Palestine, TX. This event will also be a North American MGA Register Regional Meet so we expect more MGA’s than usual. Full details, registration, and rules for the Rat Rod competition will be on www.tmgr.org. The TMGR & NAMGAR Welcome reception will be on Thursday, October 14 from 5-7 PM at Oxbow General Store, 215 E. Crawford St., Palestine. A full day of events on Friday, October 15 includes a ride on the Texas State Railway, self-guided drives through the backroads, shopping in Palestine, a shopping scavenger hunt, tech sessions, ending with a pizza and music event in the Holiday Inn Express parking lot. Cars on Kiawah will host its fifth annual display of over 250 of the region's most outstanding automobiles, in the scenic location of Ocean Park on Kiawah Island. https://vimeo.com/339402673 Cars on Kiawah showcases the evolution of the automobile from the early 1900s through the present day. Over 250 cars make up the display including everything from eye-catching concours-level cars and sleek supercars to classic muscle cars and outrageous rat rods. The Featured Collector display for 2021 is from Dr. Michael Grosso’s collection. This will be another eclectic display of interesting rolling art from a long time Lowcountry enthusiast and collector. Join the South Alabama British Car Club (sabcc.org) for the 31st Annual British Car Festival, held in the picturesque artists' colony of Fairhope, Ala., on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. All sorts of British motors are welcome, and first, second, and third place awards will be presented in 37 classes.
