So, for our Video of the Week (VotW) let’s turn our attention to the Triumph TRs. The Triumph Story is a bit soft in the sound department, but this history of the maker of is definitely worth the watch.

Aston Martin and LeEco Partner to Co-Develop Electric Vehicle

Leading global technology company LeEco and luxury sports car brand Aston Martin Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) towards the creation of a partnership that will develop a production version of the Aston Martin RapidE electric vehicle concept.  It is anticipated that the partnership will see the two companies working together in developing and manufacturing RapidE, with potential for adding a range of next-generation connected electric vehicles on behalf of Aston Martin, LeEco and Faraday Future. This new signing extends the existing collaboration between the two companies.  In January 2016, LeEco and Aston Martin revealed the first results of their partnership – an Aston Martin Rapide S incorporating the latest Letv Internet of the Vehicle (IOV) system. The second area of the partnership – the development of low-emission vehicle technologies – has been accelerated as they have developed their respective plans for launching a range of new electric […]

Aston Martin Barn Find Pair to Be Auctioned

Two exciting Aston Martin barn find cars will be auctioned by Classic Car Auctions at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on Saturday 19th March. The two sleeping classics have been kept in dry storage for the past few years waiting for new owners to restore them back to their former glory. A rare 1973 Aston Martin V8, one of just 288 produced, is estimated at between £35,000 and £40,000. One of only a few manual examples produced, the majority of Aston Martin V8s were automatic making this car rarer still, particularly as this car is one of the very last of the David Brown-era. Featuring louvered rear vents and Aston Martin Lagonda embossed cam covers, this Series III houses a 5.3 litre Weber carburetted V8 engine. The leather interior is still in remarkably good order presented in black leather. Also offered […]

Amelia Island Anticipation

The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is only a few weeks away now – less than a month. And yes, I am ripe with anticipation. So are quite a few other people, although perhaps “ripe” may not be the most appropriate word. As best as can be forecast this far out, the weather looks like it will be beautiful. It is right now anyway – down here in the semi-balmy South. Let we forget in our automotive excitement, the true goal of the weekend is to raise money for the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation. The Foundation has donated over $2.5 million since 1996 to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Spina Bifida of Jacksonville, the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Shop with Cops, Micah’s Place and other worthy charitable organizations across North Florida.

Morgan to Show EV3 Electric 3-Wheeler at Geneva

According to Road & Track, Morgan will show off the EV3, a new electric version of their 3-wheeler, at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The Morgan 3 Wheeler, one of our favorite anachronisms, is officially getting a modern reinvention. Morgan is set to debut a “near production-ready version” of the electric EV3 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, according to Autocar. Morgan first showed off a prototype of the electric 3 Wheeler, shown above, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last summer. One of the biggest problems with any electric or hybrid car is the weight of the lithium-ion batteries, but Morgan claims to have shaved weight off of the V-Twin-powered 3 Wheeler. The prototype EV3 is said to weigh just 1036 lbs to the standard 3 Wheeler’s 1157 lbs, and Morgan claims the production EV3 will be even […]

British Auto Legends: Classics of Style and Design – Review

British Auto Legends: Classics of Style and Design is purely and simply a gorgeous book. Sure, it is a coffee table book, but my god, it is such a beautiful coffee table book! This single work gives our lowly coffee table a reason to exist. This superbly illustrated book brings together more than fifty of the most significant British cars designed between the early twentieth century and the present. At well over 270 pages, there are over 50 of Britains most beautiful and significant cars covered. From the 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost all the way up to Jaguars’s 1998 XK180, there are a good number of high-end cars featured that are not only beyond normal grasp but may never be seen in person. There are, however, a good number of more mainstream beauties displayed. These include cars regularly seen at shows and even […]
