Motorfest excitement is revving up and we hope you’ll join us for an amazing day (or make it a weekend!) of sports cars, friends, and fun. On Saturday, from 8:00 am till 2:00 pm hundreds of cars and spectators will join us at our Virginia facility and we couldn’t be more excited! During the car show Saturday we’ll be giving away prizes, and there will also be tours of the Moss facility, music, and food vendors. More than 200 British cars expected for the 22nd annual Britain on the Green British car show, located south of Alexandria, Va., at Gunston Hall, the historic plantation home of colonial statesman George Mason. The show is open to all British cars and motorcycles and features a food truck alley, a sponsor/vendor midway, and children’s activities. Participants’ Choice awards will be made in 25 or more classes, and there will be a number of special awards also, including Best Resto-Mod, Best Survivor, Best Display, and Best of Show. The show also takes part in the Hagerty Youth Judging Program, in which the next generation of British car drivers pick their favorites. First held in 1982, our British Car Festival is among the oldest of its kind and one of the few multi-day British car events on the East coast. Over 150 entrants from more than 10 states participate each year. We welcome all British marques and makes in all conditions. A show-quality car is not needed to share in the fun of this great event. Awards are based on voting by participants! The car show is staged over several acres among the massive trees and lovely river views of Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro. Moss Motorfest is back! Although, as sports car fans know, bigger isn’t always better—2017 Moss Motorfest is going to be huge! Come hang out with your favorite 4-wheeled friends for a day of car sports car delights. From 8:00am till 2:00pm there will be hundreds of cars to lust over, tours of the Moss facility, music, food vendors, prizes … and more fun than you can shake a stick shift at. Preregistration must be received by April 8, 2017. All registered cars will be placed in a class for judging and award purposes. Cars must be parked with their assigned class to be eligible for awards. No trailers will be allowed on the show field. Display cars must be driven onto the show field under their own power. Classes will be determined by preregistered entries. This is a Popular Vote car show. Judging and balloting will be conducted by the registrants. The number of preregistered cars in each class will determine how many trophies will be awarded in each class. This is a rain or shine show. A portion of the proceeds will be given to Hospice. The primary purposes of this road trip were (are? I am still on it) to see my friend Gene Gillenwater in Ohio, to attend the MG national meet in Louisville, KY, and to simply get out and drive and see some countryside. I have done all of those, and I am still on the road! The first leg of the road trip took me from Charleston, SC, over some of the worst roads I have ever seen, through North Carolina and a bit of Tennessee up into Virginia. Seriously, the roads in my own home state are the worst I have seen and are in dangerously bad shape. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
