Motorfest excitement is revving up and we hope you’ll join us for an amazing day (or make it a weekend!) of sports cars, friends, and fun. On Saturday, from 8:00 am till 2:00 pm hundreds of cars and spectators will join us at our Virginia facility and we couldn’t be more excited! During the car show Saturday we’ll be giving away prizes, and there will also be tours of the Moss facility, music, and food vendors. So bring family, bring friends, bring your love for petrol-fueled good times. All attendees will receive a 15% discount on parts all day Saturday. As an update to our story last week on the sale of Jaguar parts retailer XK’s Unlimited to Moss Motors, we would like to announce and make clear that Jason Len, proprietor of XKs Unlimited, has only sold the parts department. Jason’s has retained the restoration department which is now known as XKs Motorsport. Jason and XKs have been in business for 45 years offering classic Jaguar and British car restoration and expertise. Come hang out with your favorite 4-wheeled friends for a day of car sports car delights. There are lots of great British car shows throughout the season and lots of fine car museums. But, every so often people and events and places come together to create a not-to-be-missed opportunity. This is the case with the upcoming Induction Ceremony to the new British Sports Car Hall of Fame that will be held the evening before Moss Motorfest in Petersburg, Virginia. The event is filling up fast, and the ticket-required ceremony and party are going to sell out soon. The British Sports Car Hall of Fame was established by Moss Motors as an independent entity in 2016 to preserve and perpetuate the legacy and impact of these legendary vehicles and to honor the men and women responsible for their success. Induction into the Hall of Fame is reserved for those who have made a significant and lasting impact on the British sports car industry and hobby, making it a singular honor for a lifetime of achievement. By celebrating the memory of the dedicated individuals that played key roles, the Hall can serve as a touchstone for British sports car enthusiasts of all ages and interests, furthered by its various preservation and education initiatives.

Al Moss, the founder and spirit of Moss Motors, passed away Tuesday night, September 25, 2012. Moss Motors writes, “Here in our building and in our catalogs, Al’s presence is still palpable and will be, we hope, as long as we are in business. We are better because of it.” Moss Motors didn’t start out to be a restoration parts business at all, and if E. Alan Moss had bought a Ford instead of an MG TC things might have turned out very differently indeed! Al was then a young man living in the emerging Los Angeles powerhouse, and the lure of the TC, known as “The Sports Car America Loved First,” was irresistible.
