Minis of the Rockies is proud to announce they are hosting East Meets West Mini Meet to be held June 24 – 28th, 2019 in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Headquarters for the event is the Westin Hotel. Centrally located slope-side just steps from the Snowmass Mall with its many shops and restaurants, it offers easy access to the many recreational activities found in the scenic Roaring Fork Valley.

Conceived by a group of British car and motorcycle clubs in the Denver area, the first Colorado English Motoring Conclave was held in the summer of 1983.  Every September since then many hundreds of classic and collector cars and their owners have gathered at the Conclave to celebrate the operation, preservation, and owner participation of the great British automobile marques. Now in its 35th year, the 2018 Conclave will be held over the weekend of the 15-16th of September. The weekend begins on Saturday the 15th with “Ride the Rockies” motoring tour which starts from Oak Park in Arvada, and is followed by the All British English Motoring Conclave Car Show, which will be also be held in the now familiar location of Oak Park, on Sunday the 16th. They don’t sell any MG in America, but some companies like to take their cars to Colorado anyway, to ensure they can handle high altitude conditions. Roman Mica from TFL Car is off doing what he calls “prototype fishing” again. This time, his catch and release program resulted in two MG5 hatchbacks spotted in Colorado. The MG5 Hatchback sounds like a nice British car, but it’s actually a Chinese car. It arrived in concept form in early 2011 and already has a mild facelift. We believe this particular prototype uses a turbo 1.5-liter engine rated at around 130 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The MG3 supermini and larger MG6 are sold in Europe, being assembled in Britain by very few employees, from complete kits made in China. MG 2009 is an event that all of you British car lovers aren’t going to want to miss. It starts June 24th and runs until June 28th. This is a North America MGB Register’s annual event that is hosted by a different chapter of The MG Car Club each time, so we are very lucky to have this national meet right in our own backyards. This year’s host is The MG Car Club Rocky Mountain Centre. Now most of the events had to be registered for as part of the club, but there is one that will surely draw attention: The Peak 9 Car Show and Concours.
