BAC Expands to Canada with Pfaff Automotive

Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) is continuing to take the world by storm, as the maker of the One-of-a-Kind Mono supercar has joined forces with leading Canada dealer group Pfaff Automotive Partners – famed for its dealings in motorsport and high-performance vehicles. Pfaff deals with some of the biggest marques in the world from its Vaughan, Ontario, base – just north of Toronto – including McLaren, Porsche, BMW, Audi, Pagani and Singer Vehicle Design. And it’s now added BAC to its armory on a limited-run deal, with intense interest from automobile and racetrack enthusiasts expected.

MG Vintage Racers At New Jersey Motorsports Park

The MG Vintage Racers (MGVR) have selected the Vintage Racer Group’s (VRG) “Historic Races” at the New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) the weekend of September 15-17 as their “Focus Event” for 2017. MGVR encourages all MG racers (and spectators) to attend this special event, where a large turnout of MGs will be racing! The tentative schedule calls for a weekend of vintage car racing – including two “All-MG Races”. Non-racing activities include: Thursday evening’s MGVR “Meet and Greet” social at “MGVR Central” in the paddock; a Saturday evening “Craft Beer Tasting” at the Millville Army Air Field Museum located adjacent to the track (Interesting museum!); followed by a VRG “BBQ Feast” at the museum. £5 Million of Aston Martins Sold at Auction

The 18th annual Aston Martin Sale, held at Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell and hosted by international auction house Bonhams, achieved over £5 Million last weekend. One of the surprise stars of the show was a 1996 Aston Martin V8 Sportsman Estate Car, one of only three created, originally converted to its shooting brake format at Aston Martin Works. The rather unique and bespoke Aston Martin sold for an incredible £337,500.

Sir William Lyons was the founder, director, chairman and guiding force of Jaguar. That seems like such a short and simple sentence to convey the importance of the man known as “Mister Jaguar”. For over 40 years Lyons led the car company through its many iterations and shaped both the cars and the culture through personal determination. For those many years, Lyons simply was Jaguar. He will be inducted into the British Sports Car Hall of Fame in just over two weeks.

Panasonic Jaguar Racing Points in Monaco

Panasonic Jaguar Racing recorded their second consecutive points finish in today’s FIA Formula E Monaco ePrix. Mitch Evans and Adam Carroll survived a testing battle throughout the race to finish in P10 and P14, scoring another valuable championship point for the British team. Jaguar remains P9 in the team standings. Racing in the Mediterranean Principality, Mitch and Adam succeeded in bringing both cars home through an action-packed race, recording the team’s second consecutive top ten finish in only the fifth race since Jaguar returned to international racing.

The Club’s Racing division has developed a racing programme not to be missed on the GP Circuit, as it’s own MG championships are joined by the pre-1966 Touring cars from the Masters Series, giving visitors the chance to see BMW 2002s, Alfa Romeos, Lotus Cortinas, Ford Falcons and Mustangs battling it out against the ever competitive Mini Coopers.

Jaguar Classic Kicks Off Royal Windsor Festival

More than 1,200 Jaguars kicked off a summer of celebration in style on 6 May, as Windsor Castle opened its gates to some of the world’s rarest and most desirable models in Jaguar’s history for the Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival, in support of The Prince Philip Trust Fund. The Jaguar Classic-supported Festival was organized by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club following an invitation from the Prince Philip Trust Fund. The event attracted an estimated 6500 visitors from across the world, with cars coming from Germany, Italy, Holland, France, Sweden, and Norway, as well as owners from the US and Canada.

Motor Sport Hall of Fame Contenders Announced

Some of the greatest names in motor sport history make up the shortlist of contenders for this year’s Motor Sport Hall of Fame ceremony. Set to take place at the stunning Royal Automobile Club at Woodcote Park on Wednesday, June 7, the event will add four more legends to those already inducted, which includes Ayrton Senna, Juan Manuel Fangio, Sir Frank Williams and Tazio Nuvolari. Former Grand Prix driver Karun Chandhok helped to select the 12 contenders in the Formula 1 category, while Le Mans legend – and 2016 inductee – Derek Bell did likewise with the sports car list. More than 20,000 enthusiasts from all over the world then voted for their favorites in those categories, plus those for US racing and motorcycling.

A Rolls-Royce Springfield Silver Ghost, purchased new by famed billionaire Howard Hughes during The Roaring Twenties, captured Best of Show at the fifth anniversary of the Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance at Pinehurst Resort on Saturday. The Pinehurst Concours was just the second time the tan-bodied 1925 Rolls-Royce with black fenders and red spoke wheels had been shown since owner Guy Lewis purchased the car three years ago, which had been sitting in a Florida barn for more than four decades.
