The Compact-SUV, which is proving popular with families thanks to its affordability, outstanding design and digital extras as standard, received the positive rating following vehicle testing that represents real-life accident scenarios. In both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, the MG ZS scored maximum points and protection of all critical body areas was good.

The passenger compartment of the MG ZS remained stable in a frontal offset test and dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. A seatbelt reminder for the front of the vehicle and driver-set speed limiter were noted as additional safety features.

Since its November 2017 launch, the MG ZS Compact-SUV has become the fastest-selling MG Motor UK model, with more than 400 orders taken in the first month aloneThe MG ZS comes with a seven year/80,000-mile warranty, which is one of the longest in its class and gives customers complete peace of mind. Rivals such as SsangYong, Hyundai and Toyota, have also received three-star Euro NCAP ratings.

Harvey France, spokesperson at MG, said:

An achievement of a three-star rating from Euro NCAP is a great result. The body of the car showed great strength in all aspects and the MG ZS scored maximum points in the side barrier and the more severe side pole impact tests, a true testament to the work carried out by the engineering team.

Engineers at MG Motor UK worked tirelessly to engineer the game-changing MG ZS Compact-SUV for a British audience. Extensive testing in extreme weather conditions ensured it would meet high standards expected.

With strong attention to detail, there are three power-assisted steering modes on the Excite and Exclusive models – Urban, Normal and Dynamic – which means drivers can personalize the ride that is suited completely to their needs.

Design features include Diamond-cut alloy wheels, which provide a depth of movement and streamlined approach. Driver comfort has also been a key to the vehicle’s success, with six-way adjustable seating in the Excite and Exclusive models, which also come with touch sensitive infotainment screen, cruise control and Apple CarPlay. Bluetooth hands-free and remote central locking is available on all three models.
