MG Motor UK has maintained its exceptional start to the year in February, recording its 28th consecutive month of volume and market share growth with a 97% increase in sales versus the same period last year. Placing style, practicality and value for money at the heart of its offering, 883 exciting new MG models found homes during February despite a declining automotive market overall. MG also delivered a strong proposition in terms of market share (1.1%), making it three months in a row that MG has achieved a share in excess of 1%. The marque, once again, remains the fastest growing car manufacturer in the UK.
MG Motor UK has maintained its position as the UK’s fastest-growing car manufacturer after posting its 25th consecutive month of year-on-year growth in November. MG recorded 1,186 sales over the course of the month, a 29% increase compared to last November. MG also achieved a record monthly market share since, securing 0.76% of the new car market. MG Motor UK has already beaten 2017’s new car annual registrations volume, reaching over 4,441 registrations by the 4th July and remaining on course to double its sales volumes in 2018. MG’s significant volume growth is being driven by the fabulous All-New MG ZS compact SUV, which starts from £12,495 OTR and includes a 7-year manufacturer warranty. The MG ZS comes with a high-level of specification as standard, and is also available on a 5-year 0% APR finance deal, making it one of the best value-for-money cars in the UK market today.
2017 investment in industry-beating new product, expansion of the dealer network, and an enhanced aftersales package have all contributed to MG Motor UK achieving its best sales performance in recent years. More than 4,440 new cars were registered by the iconic MG Motor UK brand in 2017, an increase of around 6% year-on-year, according to the latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) released today (4th January 2018). In December alone, MG Motor UK achieved 100 additional unit sales over 2016 figures, thanks largely to the roll-out of the new MG ZS Compact-SUV.
The dynamic new MG ZS has achieved a three-star rating from Euro NCAP after undergoing its rigorous testing program. The Compact-SUV, which is proving popular with families thanks to its affordability, outstanding design and digital extras as standard, received the positive rating following vehicle testing that represents real-life accident scenarios. In both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, the MG ZS scored maximum points and protection of all critical body areas was good.
