Nearly 200 Triumphs and their owners gathered at the Radisson Hotel in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, for the 2018 VTR National Annual Convention.  A reception Tuesday evening kicked off the show’s autocross competition, riverboat rides, local driving tours, and rallies. The big events — the Participants Choice and the Concours Show – blossomed Friday along the mighty Mississippi in Riverside Park. Among the entrants were three rare Triumph Italia 2000 GTs from eastern Pennsylvania. Each was restored by Ragtops & Roadsters, with body, paint and upholstery work done by its sister shop Pollock Auto Restoration. Jaguar Land Rover Classic is demonstrating the brand’s commitment to classic vehicle owners and enthusiasts in North America by establishing a new refurbishing/restoration, sales and servicing center in Savannah, Georgia. Set to open in summer 2019, the facility will give access to a range of authentic classic cars, services, parts, and experiences across both British marques. The new 75,000 square foot facility will be the first for Jaguar Land Rover Classic outside Europe, with more than 75 highly-skilled full-time employees.

Land Rover took its 70th-anniversary celebrations to new heights by visiting a remote rural community in West Bengal that relies on a fleet of classic models for its very survival. Known as the ‘Land of Land Rovers’, the rural location in deep in the Himalayas is reliant on a fleet of meticulously maintained Series Land Rovers dating back as far as 1957.

MG Motor UK has added five new partners to its dealer network as it continues to drive towards its goal of establishing a full national network of 120 sites by 2020. The latest additions to the MG network are Crayford & Abbs in north Norfolk, Thomas & Davies in Merthyr Tydfil, McMillan Motors in Greenock, Jermyn & Sons in Seaford, East Sussex and FG Barnes in Canterbury. All five sites joined MG’s rapidly-growing network in July, taking MG’s dealership network up to a total of 81 sites.

British-made supercars rank as the most popular in 2018, according to JBR Capital, the UK’s leading independent finance provider dedicated to high-end vehicles. Four of the top 10 most financed cars by JBR Capital so far this year are made in Britain, ahead of exotic supercar rivals from Germany, Italy, and Japan.

MG Motor UK has announced record new car registrations as the iconic British brand continues to go from strength-to-strength in the UK market. The July sales results, taken from the latest SMMT market report, show that MG has achieved an impressive 5,099 new car registrations so far in 2018, over 600 cars more than it achieved in the whole of 2017. This significant increase in new car registrations amounts to an increase of 122% compared with the same period in 2017.

Jaguar Land Rover Automotive plc, the UK’s largest vehicle manufacturer, today reported its financial results for the three-month period ending 30 June 2018. Retail sales for the quarter reached 145,510 vehicles, up 5.9% on the previous year. The increase reflects growing sales of the new Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery and Jaguar E-PACE. However, wholesales (including China JV) were 13,950 units lower than retails, primarily reflecting lower wholesales in China in advance of the reduction in import duties from 25% to 10% on 1 July and production scheduling to de-stock inventories in other markets.

Aston Martin Racing has adjusted its driver line-up for the remainder of 2018, beginning with the 6 Hours of Silverstone (19 August) and including the 6 Hours of Fuji (14 October) and 6 Hours of Shanghai (18 November). With the team focused on its FIA WEC Super Season world championship aspirations, Nicki Thiim (DEN) and Marco Sørensen (DEN) will share driving duties in their regular #95 ‘DaneTrain’ Aston Martin Vantage GTE, while Maxime Martin (BEL) and Alex Lynn (GB) will pair up in the #97. Each entry will benefit from increased track time and fewer compromises in their driving positions in a move that has become standard practice in the GTE Pro category.

MINI USA has confirmed that its biennial MINI owners road rally MINI TAKES THE STATES 2018 (MTTS) attracted more than 3,000 owners to event’s finale and that the rally raised more than one million meals for charity partner Feeding America. MINI USA also confirmed that fundraising efforts to support Feeding America will remain open until the end of the year at MINITAKESTHESTATES.com. The biennial trek attracted more than 3,600 MINI owners who took part in the Rally to the Rockies, with 1,000+ MINIs on the road each day. The group of loyal MINI owners travelled more than 5,000 miles through 15 cities and 14 states. At times the group swelled to more than 1,000 owners and 500 vehicles of all shapes, colors and sizes on each route.

Aston Martin, the producer of highly desirable luxury handcrafted sports cars, today announced it has completed the second phase of its new car assembly plant at St Athan, in South Wales. Aston Martin’s Board of Directors held their first meeting in St Athan to mark the completion of building work at the facility, which involves the conversion of three super hangars at the former Ministry of Defence site into a state-of-the-art vehicle assembly facility.
