October registrations rose 85.1% year on year, an increase of 3,604 vehicles, in an overall new-car market that grew 5.4% to 152,730 registrations. MG took a 5.13% share of the October market, placing it fourth in the UK sales rankings for the month.

MG passed its previous full-year record of 85,155 vehicles, set in 2025, on October 29. Year-to-date sales reached 86,767 by the end of the month, up 24.6% – an increase of 17,140 vehicles – on the same period last year. The brand now holds a 4.59% year-to-date market share and ranks sixth overall, compared with 12th at the same point in 2025. The total UK new-car market stands at 1,892,000 registrations for the year to date, up 9.8%.

The October result extends a run that had already set an all-time sales record in September, when the streak reached six months. Retail registrations grew 57.3% in October, far ahead of the 4.1% growth in the wider retail market, while fleet sales rose 138.8%, supported by MG’s range of Hybrid+, Plug-in Hybrid and electric models.

David Allison, Director of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK, said: “October’s results show that more customers are choosing MG for the value, choice and quality offered across our range. Setting a seventh consecutive monthly record and passing our previous full-year sales record before the end of October are significant achievements. Strong growth in both retail and fleet also demonstrates the appeal of our vehicles to a very broad range of customers, who – more than ever – are voting for value.”
