Stowe British Invasion – September 18-20, 2015

The British Invasion is the largest all-British motorcar show and British lifestyle event in the Eastern United States. This annual event is held on the weekend of the 3rd Saturday in the month of September in Stowe, Vermont. 2015 marks the 25 anniversary of the British Invasion with this year’s event being held September 18 through 20. Over 700 British Motorcars invade the rustic town of Stowe, Vermont for the weekend. Friday evening is the Main Street Party with reserve parking for British Motorcars, and a live band. Saturday is the big day with the Concours d’Elegance (Judged Competition); the British Classic (People’s Choice 60+ classes of British Motorcars); the Car Corral(British Car for Sale); the British Market Place; The Queen’s Court (Ladies Hat Competition); British Attire Competition, British Invasion Music; and Food and Beverage. Show Wrap-Up – Midlands Carolina British Classics IX

The British Car Club Midlands Centre out of Columbia, South Carolina, held their 9th annual Carolina British Classic show this past Saturday, April, and it was a pleasure to attend. The event was held at historic Columbia Speedway in coordination with Tartan Day South, an annual Scottish festival. Proceeds from the show went to Pawmetto Lifeline. The weather was cool and beautiful – a truly fantastic Spring day. As in years past, the background of the Scottish festival lent a music, food and an amazing array of traditional, and not so traditional, dress to the show. Having a car show in conjunction with an event such as this really makes the whole day more enjoyable for all those attending. 30th Annual Charleston British Car Show

The British Car Club of Charleston will be holding its 30th Annual British Car Day at Memorial Waterfront Park, Mt. Pleasant, SC, just over the bridge from downtown Charleston. Wow, 30 years! And by the way, yes. I was there at the first of these shows nearly 30 years ago. In fact I was the organizer of that first show, and that show was held at Charles Towne Landing.  But let’s not dwell on my age, instead go enjoy the beautiful cars. Atlanta British Motorcar Day 2014

This will be the 31st Annual British Motorcar Day, this year on Sunday, May 4 in Roswell, Georgia. British Motorcar Day is an annual gathering of all of the British Car Clubs in the Atlanta, Georgia region. The event is now in its Thirtieth year from its beginnings with sixteen cars in Grant Park in 1983. The show is in a new location this year, just off Hill Street in downtown Roswell, just north of Atlanta. You can see the Hill Street location on Google Maps, or get full directions from the attached flyer. The event that started over thirty years ago with a handful of cars in Grant Park has moved back closer to where it began. Carolina British Classics VII, 2013

We will be going to the Carolina British Classics VII show on Saturday, April 6. This event is being held at the historic Columbia Speedway just outside of Columbia in Cayce, South Carolina. This year the British Car Club Midlands Center will again be merging their event with the popular Tartan Day South Festival at the Historic Columbia Speedway. There will again be many interesting and entertaining diversions throughout the day, as well as a variety of Celtic themed merchandise and food vendors. Entry fee to the Festival is included in the Registration Fee for drivers and all passengers pay $5.00 each. As always this is a charity event with proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project and Hidden Wounds. Classic Cars on Display at Tynemouth Priory

Tynemouth Priory, in North Tyneside, played host to more than 50 classic vehicles at the weekend for the climax of the MG Northumbria Car Club’s annual Heritage event. Set against the impressive backdrop of the English Heritage site, dozens of club members got to showcase their pride and joy to admiring spectators, all with a common appreciation for the popular classic cars of yesteryear. Among the impressive display was an MG Midget, a 1948 Riley 2.5 litre Roadster, an Austin Healy, a TVR and a Lotus Cortina. Overall winner on the day out of the 54 cars exhibited was George Dalgarno with his 1948 Riley Roadster. Call for Volunteers for Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance

Planning for the 10th Annual Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance is underway. This is one of the most prestigious events on the East Coast, and 2011 is shaping up to be know different. This year they will again host events at two different venues. As in last year, the two different venues will be on two separate weekends. The Savannah Speed Classic will be held Friday, October 28 – Sunday, October 30 on Savannah’s Hutchinson Island at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. This is a sanctioned event of the Historic Sportscar Racing, Ltd (HSR). The remainder of the Motoring Festival’s events will take place again at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6.
