Following the very successful first Columbus British Car Show in 2019, the Peachtree MG Register is getting ready for the 2021 edition. We have plans to make it bigger and better than before, with more space for social distancing and activities for all tastes during the whole weekend. All of us hope that by the time September rolls around, Covid-19 will be manageable and we can enjoy our British cars again. From our side, we’ll put everything in place to make Brits in the Valley happen safely. And if that isn’t possible, we’ll do it another time. Jaguar Land Rover Classic is demonstrating the brand’s commitment to classic vehicle owners and enthusiasts in North America by establishing a new refurbishing/restoration, sales and servicing center in Savannah, Georgia. Set to open in summer 2019, the facility will give access to a range of authentic classic cars, services, parts, and experiences across both British marques. The new 75,000 square foot facility will be the first for Jaguar Land Rover Classic outside Europe, with more than 75 highly-skilled full-time employees.

Atlanta British Motorcar Day is the only British car show sponsored by fourteen Atlanta area British car clubs. This charity event has been held continuously since its inception in 1984 and has grown from its first small show in Grant Park to now attracting over two hundred British cars at the annual gathering. All Board Members are volunteers and event expenses are kept to a minimum ensuring that over three thousand dollars is annually contributed to a variety of local charities and civic organizations. Online registration is $20 per car per family and $10 for each additional car. Online registration will be open until Friday, June 8th at 5:00pm. According to Bill Wallet, CEO of the Atlanta Concours, this third year marks a near trifecta for the organization as it offers the ability to reach out beyond the local and regional focus, gaining support and entries from globally renowned car collections such as the Evergreen Historic Automobiles collection; further growth and support from manufacturers and local dealers — beginning with Porsche adding the Atlanta Concours to its 70thanniversary celebration of events and taking on the lead marque for the event; and the creation of an all-new mobility area that will not only showcase vendors and sponsors bringing utilities such as all-terrain wheelchairs, but of more importance working with the Shepherd Center to provide appropriate equipment for disabled veterans and those that are handicapped to make the Atlanta Concours a truly accessible show.

We’re taking over the mountains for the SE Fall GOF. This year, we’re excited to be heading our MG’s back to the North Georgia Mountains, and our host hotel is the perfect location. With just 66 rooms, The Ridges Resort sits on the edge of Lake Chatuge and is just what you expect from a cozy mountain lodge. ‘Mayhem in the Mountains’ will be a celebration of all things Harvest, so be prepared for pumpkins, cool weather, and beautiful Fall drives. After a day of driving, we’ll be easing into the weekend Thursday night with a few twists on some old favorites! We’re not giving the specifics, but it will definitely be memorable. The first US Morgan 3-wheeler convention was held in Augusta, Georgia a couple of weeks ago, and by all accounts, it was a great success. Unfortunately, we were not able to attend, but Dee Gibson put together a Youtube slideshow using photos from the convention.  Looks like everyone was having a fun time.  You can check out more coverage of the event at the official website. And while we are looking at fantastic old 3-wheel Morgans, check out this beautiful 1938 car. This Youtube video was also published on the convention’s Facebook page, and we think it is an excellent portrayal of the spirit behind Morgan folk. Oh, OK. As long as we are lusting after these oddball beauties let’s take a look at just one more. I lied. Yes, I lied. One more!

The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance will celebrate its 15th year in the fall of 2016. The Festival kicks off with the Savannah Speed Classic, October 28 – 30, on the Grand Prize of America road course situated on the property of The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. Announcing the 2014 Southeast British Car Festival in Dillard Georgia, hosted by the Peachtree MG Registry in Atlanta. This biannual event, started in the early 1990’s, has grown in importance and stature over the past few years as it has shifted from an all MG event to an all British Car show. After the Peachtree MG Registry hosted the NAMGBR National Show in 2012, the Southeast Festival has been expanded to build on everyone’s great experiences and this year is sanctioned by both NAMGBR and NAMGAR.
