After a very successful 2015 The Midland Automobile Club announce Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb dates for the forthcoming year. The year starts with a round of the Sporting Trial which is held on the upper banks of the main car park. A real test of man, machine and skill, and providing a great spectacle as the drivers test their skills to navigate a very technical course.

April 24th sees the club run its MAC Classic, a classic tour for 200 cars with four start points and a tulip book with all routes finishing at the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb and a run up the 1,000 yards. Entry forms are available from the website and entries are now open.

2016 will see the Midland Automobile Club hold 6 hill climb competition weekends at the famous Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb with two rounds of the Avon Tyres TTC Group British Hill Climb Championship visiting in June and August with the top hill climb cars and drivers in action over two days.
The Midland Hill Climb Championship also returns in May, and also joins the British Championship in June and August.
There are also invitations to competitors in Lotus, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bentley and Triumph championships, with rounds of the National Hill Climb Association Series for motorcycles in July and September.
The Vintage and PVT event will see the annual visit from the Vintage Sports Car club, always a good event to see some of the classic racers from over the years still being pushed hard, with the mighty Napier entertaining the crowds and smoking its tyres as it leaves the line.
The highlight event and one of the key events in the historic racing calendar is Classic Nostalgia which in recent years has hosted significant displays of historic cars and celebrations for Sir Stirling Moss and Derek Bell, Jaguar and Aston Martin. The event takes place over the weekend of the 16th and 17th July, with fun for all the family from not just track action but to aerial displays, music and dancing and special guests. 2016 will build on the success of previous years with special guests and theme to be announced shortly.
