Five superb variations of the Mini, all with fascinating stories, are set to go under the hammer at Classic Car Auctions March sale held at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show. The Mini which celebrated a significant birthday throughout 2019 continues to hold the limelight and is one of the most recognisable cars on the road. It also spawned a number of derivatives making it an extremely versatile car for its size.

Car registration fee is $15 if in before May 18th and $18 the day of the Show. Registration is limited to the first 100 cars. Peoples Choice judging for numerous classes. Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle to help fund the Museum. The Show is followed by the Ohio Valley British Brass Band in concert in the band shell. Many nearby restaurants to enjoy.

Order books for the Land Rover Defender 90 have opened following the successful launch of the Defender 110. New Defender is the toughest and most capable Land Rover ever made and delivers 21st century connectivity with unstoppable off-road performance. A British icon that was designed by Aston Martin in the late 1970’s to show off the capabilities of its new engineering facility is to be restored by CMC, Classic Motor Cars in Bridgnorth. The Aston Martin Bulldog, styled by William Towns, is a one off concept car that Aston Martin created to prove that it was not only a small company of renowned motoring artisans but that it’s engineering prowess was also world class.

The London Concours, presented by Montres Breguet, has announced the second of its special feature displays – The Collector –  which each year shines a light on one individual’s personal car collection. This year, London Concours’ Collector is none other than famed automotive designer, Ian Callum CBE. Aston Martin Racing recorded another famous double victory in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), following one of its most emphatic performances as a manufacturer over a single event. The British luxury sportscar brand dominated the Lone Star 6 Hours at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, winning both the GTE Pro and Am classes having set the standard all weekend. Danish duo Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen increased their WEC GTE Drivers’ Championship lead to 26 points over their nearest rival with a lights-to-flag victory from pole position in the #95 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE. What was once just a gathering of a few local members for a picnic is now one of the premier annual events for all British car owners in the Mid Atlantic Region. Each year we have over 200 cars with MGs of all Models and 8 classes of other British Marques. Popular vote balloting by the car owners is from 10:00 until 1:00 p.m. and awards are given out soon after 3:00 p.m.. *** Postponed Until 2022 *** Triumphest is a three-day event that occurs once every year and is usually held in either California, Nevada, or Arizona. It is open to anyone who has a Triumph automobile and wishes to attend. People from as far away as Canada or the East Coast have attended. This year, the San Diego Club is hosting the event and will be holding it in San Diego at the Dana Resort in Mission Bay. This is a beautiful resort with plenty of amenities. Many activities are scheduled, and it is a fun way to say hello to all your Triumph friends near and far.  

*** CANCELLED *** After deliberation, the organizing committee has decided to cancel TRA 2021 scheduled for June 14-18, 2021 in Lexington, KY. This was not an easy decision for those of us in Miami Valley Triumphs who have spent countless hours and club funds in planning TRA 2020 only to have to postpone it to 2021 in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want those of you who planned or were interested in attending to have some background on why this decision was made.

Free spectator admission. 30 Classes of awards for European vehicles. Breakfast and Lunch available. Theme basket raffles. Proceeds to local charities. Come with your car, or just come to look. In fact, that’s what the BCC is all about – fun. Fun in social activities like drives and picnics and dinners, and fun in car-oriented events like shows and tech sessions too.
