Goodwood Revival 2026: Jaguar Victory and British Racing Heritage

Jaguar’s E-type took the headline victory at the 2026 Goodwood Revival, as Lukas Halusa and André Lotterer won the RAC TT Celebration to close a weekend packed with British racing heritage.

The September 18-20 meeting carried an Italian theme, celebrating Maserati’s racing centenary and 80 years of Vespa. Yet for British-car enthusiasts, the familiar mix of Jaguars, Aston Martins, Lotus Cortinas and historic Grand Prix machinery remained at the heart of the action.

Goodwood Revival 2026 ends with an E-type victory

Sunday’s one-hour RAC TT Celebration brought together a field of 1958-64 GT cars and a driver line-up spanning Formula 1, IndyCar, NASCAR and endurance racing. Jenson Button, Jacques Villeneuve, Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon and Revival debutant Hélio Castroneves were among the names on the grid.

Halusa handed the Jaguar E-type “low drag” coupe to Lotterer during the pit window. The German later passed Andrew Jordan’s AC Cobra at Lavant with 15 minutes remaining, then had to build enough of a lead to overcome a three-second false-start penalty.

Traffic kept the outcome in doubt through the closing laps, but Lotterer did enough to secure the win. It was his third victory in the RAC TT Celebration, shared this time with Halusa.

British saloons and sports cars in the spotlight

The St. Mary’s Trophy brought its own two-part saloon-car contest, with Jaguar Mk2s and Ford-Lotus Cortinas sharing the circuit with Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAs. Romain Dumas and Fred Shepherd claimed the victory on Sunday, according to Goodwood’s weekend report.

Friday evening’s Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy put Jaguar E-types and Aston Martin DB4 GTs alongside Ferrari 250 SWBs. Alexander Van Der Lof and Yelmer Buurman took the win in a race that celebrated an era when GT cars combined road-going elegance with serious competition.

At the smaller end of the scale, the Settrington Cup’s Austin J40 pedal cars gave the next generation its own turn on the grid. Joshua Pearce took the overall win in the event presented by Ralph Lauren.

Brabham, Sheene and the Le Mans reunion

Goodwood marked the centenary of Sir Jack Brabham’s birth and 60 years since his third Formula 1 World Championship. A gathering of cars celebrated a driver whose career also left a lasting mark on racing engineering.

The meeting also concluded Goodwood’s year of tributes to Barry Sheene, 50 years after his first motorcycle World Championship. Tom Booth-Amos and Ben Kingham won the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy on a Vincent Black Shadow.

For readers on both sides of the Atlantic, the reunion of the three Ford GT MkIIs from the 1966 Le Mans 1-2-3 finish was another highlight. The cars appeared on Dunlop’s Earls Court stand and on the circuit, recreating their famous finish 60 years later. Drivers taking turns at the wheel included Derek Bell, Tom Kristensen, Scott Dixon and Jimmie Johnson.

Historic racing with a modern outlook

Goodwood said all racing at the 2026 Revival used sustainable fuel. Away from the circuit, the fifth year of its Revive & Thrive programme encouraged repair, restoration and reuse through demonstrations and workshops.

After the RAC TT finish, the event’s first Sunday Closing Party invited visitors onto the circuit for live music and dancing. It was a new ending to a weekend still built around keeping old cars, skills and stories in use.
