The organisers of the prestigious World Car of the Year Award (WCOTY), the number one car award on the planet, have announced that the 2016 WCOTY, to be named at the New York Show in April 2016, will be displayed at the London Motor Show to be staged in Battersea Park in May 2016.
The World Car Awards (WCA) is a programme initiated by, and conducted by, automotive journalists across the globe. It is administered by a non-profit corporation, under the guidance of a steering committee of leading automotive journalists from Asia, Europe and North America. In that way, it draws on the experience and expertise already developed by various other award programmes throughout the world.
Motoring journalist and WCA director, Mike Rutherford commented, “We are very happy to showcase the 2016 WCOTY at the new London Motor Show. We believe that London richly deserves a motor show and we are delighted that immediately after the 2016 winner is announced in New York, motorists will be able to see a very special version of the car exhibited in London.”
The new London Motor Show will be staged at the Battersea Park Evolution Centre from the 5th to the 8th May 2016 10 am to 6pm. Tickets will be priced from £13 and can be pre-ordered by visiting the London Motor Show website www.thelondonmotorshow.co.uk. The new London Motor Show will be unlike all previous events in the UK, with a variety of cars displayed from city and electric/hybrid vehicles, family models to top end luxury and sports cars. Visitors will also have the opportunity of test driving the car or cars of their choice and the Evolution Centre will also have road safety and technology displays. All members of the family will be catered for.
