Owners of the humble yet much-adored Mini, in all its classic forms, are invited to join in the celebration of that other iconic sixties British classic – the Jaguar E-type – at its 60th-anniversary event at Shelsley Walsh. The two legendary cars often slug it out for the top spot in public votes on the Best British Car Ever, but for the weekend of 12-13 June 2021, any such rivalries will be put aside to celebrate 60 years since the launch of the E-type by reviving the cars, music, and fashion of the ‘Swinging Sixties’. On Saturday 23rd of July 2016 the stunning Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb will become the setting for one of the UK’s largest gatherings of Morgan vehicles. Sports cars from past and present will delight the crowds as hundreds of them tackle the challenging climb. With music, entertainment and much more to see and do, this is a not to be missed event for any Morgan enthusiast and their family. After a very successful 2015 The Midland Automobile Club announce Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb dates for the forthcoming year. The year starts with a round of the Sporting Trial which is held on the upper banks of the main car park. A real test of man, machine and skill, and providing a great spectacle as the drivers test their skills to navigate a very technical course. MARCH 13 Sporting Trial April 24th sees the club run its MAC Classic, a classic tour for 200 cars with four start points and a tulip book with all routes finishing at the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb and a run up the 1,000 yards. Jaguar’s Project 7 is to return to Shelsley Walsh this Sunday (19th July) as part of The Midland Automobile Club’s Jaguar Celebrations. The Project 7 concept car was filmed at Shelsley Walsh before its unveiling at THE Goodwood Festival Of Speed in 2013. F-TYPE Project 7 is the first Jaguar performance vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations team, and will be produced in an exclusive, limited-edition run of up to 250 units. Its distinctive roadster body, introduced in concept form in 2014, pays tribute to one of the most famous and iconic racing Jaguars: the three-time Le Mans winning D-type.
