Hudson

Every second year HACK ( Hudson Antique Car Klub) presents the “The Hudson British Car Show” in Hudson Quebec. This will be our 9th. Show. With an attendance of 300-400 cars, this is the largest show of it’s kind in Quebec. The show grounds are located in the center of the town within walking distance of shops and boutiques and an authentic British Tea Room, so bring your significant other along for the day. If you want to arrive on Saturday, you can join us at 10:00 A.M. at Finnegan’s Flea Market for Finnegan’s Run. A pleasant run through the countryside followed by a free B.B.Q. at the Chateau Du Lac in downtown Hudson. The show is Sunday! We hope to see you in Hudson and encourage you to spread the word. Our video this week is a bit different, as is the car in focus. This week we are featuring the Nash Metropolitan which many do not even consider to be a British car. In that aspect, it may have been years ahead of its time because it prompts us to ask, again, what is a British car? We start with a 1954 filmstrip for dealers ‘The Inside Story of the Metropolitan‘. The Metropolitan was also sold as a Hudson when Nash and Hudson merged in 1954 to form the American Motors Corporation (AMC), and later as a standalone marque during the Rambler years. Additionally, it was actually sold in the United Kingdom and some markets under the Austin brand.
