JLR Classic Expands with Centers in Germany

Jaguar Land Rover Classic is accelerating its global expansion strategy with the opening of a brand-new Classic Centre in Germany – the first facility of its kind outside the UK. The new Classic Centre in Essen is directly operated by Jaguar Land Rover Classic, providing factory service in Germany. In addition, the company is also introducing a service to support classic car enthusiasts seeking pre-owned Jaguar Land Rover classic vehicles using the new ‘Works Legends’ online portal available at www.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/workslegends.

Work begins on Aston Martin Super Hangars in St Athan

Aston Martin has announced local firm TRJ Ltd as the selected construction partner for ‘Phase 2’ of the conversion contract at the St Athan manufacturing facility. Work is already underway at St Athan and will focus on turning the three ‘Super Hangars’ into an Aston Martin manufacturing facility. This contract was formally advertised through the Welsh Government’s Sell 2 Wales site, receiving significant interest from firms across the UK.  But it was the local Ammanford based TRJ who were ultimately successful, following on from their award of Phase 1 in December 2016.

Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon Awarded Grant

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, based at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, Warwickshire has been awarded a Round Two grant of £1.45 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for its Museum Collections Centre project, it was announced today. The award is the culmination of more than 2 years work to develop plans for a new building in which to store and display more than 200 historic British cars from the collections of both the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and its partner the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
