Land Rover Announces First Peru Tour Experience Winner

Land Rover has announced that John Thomas from Fresno, Calif. has been selected as the first winner of trials to join the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017. As one of four winners that will be chosen across the U.S., Thomas will have the opportunity to drive the new Land Rover Discovery on an expense paid, six-day off-road excursion through the Peruvian countryside, over mountain ranges, through jungles, and across the Atacama Desert. Entries for the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru are being accepted through August 31.

Thomas completed the U.S. challenge trials at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Ariz., on a purpose-built, off-road course created by Land Rover driving instructors to measure both his driving precision and performance in the new Land Rover Discovery. Thomas was the first to complete the course, with obstacles such as side tilts, articulation holes, downhill descents, off-camber turns and other feats, demonstrating the best combination of driving precision and speed on the course.

Now in the final month of entries for the competition, only three additional winners will be chosen to join the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017. Those winners will be selected from the pool of entries received at the three U.S. Land Rover Experience Driving Centers in Carmel, Calif.; Manchester, Vt.; and Asheville, N.C.

Interested participants can enter for free at any of the U.S. Land Rover Experience Driving Centers by visiting www.landroverusa.com/experiences/index.html.

We are excited to announce the first winner of the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017. It will be a thrilling experience for John and we know he will enjoy all the capabilities of the new Discovery.

The four winners will join the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017 from Oct. 28 – Nov. 3 and will drive more than 500 miles from Cusco, to Machu Picchu, Pichari, Satipo, and end their trip in Huancayo, Peru.

Participants will drive the new Land Rover Discovery on a variety of terrains including sand dunes, rocky riverbeds and mountain roads as they experience different destinations and ecosystems including deserts, jungles, beaches, caves, and local villages. Accommodations will include a mix of hotel stays and natural campsites, depending on location.
