Bentley Motorsport has won the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with Bentley Team M-Sport at a rollercoaster final round in Barcelona. The team entered the championship finale as Endurance Cup leaders with a 16-point advantage over its nearest rival, thanks to a win at the Paul Ricard 1000 km and a second place finish in the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa.

There have long been images of witches riding brooms, but could there be a time in the near future when the modern witch makes the switch from broom to vacuum cleaner? Dyson may be banking on it. Dyson, the British engineering company best known for its vacuum cleaners and fans, plans to spend £2.5bn developing a “radical” electric car. The battery-powered vehicle is due to be launched in 2020.

Chinese-owned British brand MG has revealed a replacement for its eight-year-old rival for the Toyota Corolla, the MG 6. Sold in Australia as the MG 6 Plus in three hatchback variants priced from $21,990, the original MG 6 was part of MG’s local rebirth last year, when it also launched the MG 3 light hatch, followed this year by the GS mid-size SUV.

The Endurance Rally Association’s (ERA) inaugural Blue Train Challenge reached a dramatic conclusion in Cannes as the Cadillac that had been leading right from the start of the five-day rally ‘fried a wheel bearing’ and had to retire on the final regularity. This gave the win to Richard and Tom Jeffcoate in the 1938 Riley 16/4 Special. Inspired by the legendary run by the Bentley of Wolf Barnato from Cannes to London in March 1930, the Blue Train Challenge set off from the elegant resort of Deauville with James Gately and Tony Brooks driving into the lead in their 1937 Cadillac Convertible.

Adding to the list of race wins and podiums already secured in the first year racing with customer teams around the world, the McLaren 570S GT4 has now achieved multiple championship success over the past two weekends. Customer teams contesting the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GTS series, GT4 European Series Northern Cup, Swedish GT Championship and the British GT Championship have taken debut titles for the McLaren Sports Series model. The maiden title for the 570S GT4 came while competing in California, USA, where GMG Racing secured the PWC GTSA class title with a race to spare at the season-closing weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have further strengthened their Innovation Partnership with the announcement that the Formula One team will compete as ‘Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’ from 2018. The successful partnership, that has already produced the sold-out Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, will yield future products and an exciting new Advanced Performance Centre that will open on the Red Bull Racing campus in Milton Keynes later this year. The British luxury carmaker will also evaluate the opportunity to be involved in the team’s power unit from 2021 after being asked by the FIA to join discussions on future engines for F1TM.

The 2017 Jaguar Classic Challenge season concluded at the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium during the Six Hours of Spa race weekend, with the father and son pairing of Graeme and James Dodd taking their third victory of the five-race season in their 1963 E-type. A strong 33-car entry competed in the Belgian event, all pre-1966 Appendix K specification Jaguars. Andy Newall and Rhea Sautter put their 1961 E-type on pole during qualifying, more than two seconds ahead of Chris Milner and Nigel Greensall’s car. The Dodds started third, with Marcus Oeynhausen lined up alongside them on the second row of the grid.

The #31 Bentley Continental GT3 of Seb Morris (GB) and Rick Parfitt Jr (GB) has won the 2017 British GT Championship thanks to a fourth-place finish for the Team Parker Racing crew at Donington Park. The team started the weekend – dubbed the Donington Decider – with a 10.5 advantage in the standings. After a close qualifying session, the pair started side-by-side with their championship rivals in third and fourth.

Jaguar’s new E-PACE performance SUV plays in the city in a series of ‘warped reality’ pictures by digital artist Chris Labrooy. The artwork celebrates the North American launch of Jaguar’s new compact performance SUV. Inspired by the car’s playful character and its record-breaking barrel-roll reveal, Labrooy puts the E-PACE into a series of unlikely locations and scenarios. The ‘Transposition’ series of images revealed today features Detroit, famed for its automotive heritage and the location of the E-PACE’s US debut today.

The Land Rover Discovery HSE Td6 has taken on a 121-ton road train and the Australian Outback…and won. During the ultimate towing test, the Land Rover Discovery towed a seven-trailer semi-truck from a stopped position for a total of nearly 10-miles. Land Rover completed the impressive display of towing capability by pulling a 328-ft road train in the remote Northern Territory of Australia to announce the arrival of the 2018 model year Discovery Discovery HSE Td6.

An extreme McLaren GT racing car is today confirmed as an exclusive choice for gamers in the hugely anticipated PlayStation 4 title, Gran Turismo Sport, which will be available starting October 17, 2017. The McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo was designed in response to a call from game creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, for vehicle manufacturers to design ‘visionary GT cars’ to compete in Gran Turismo Sport. While not a prototype for any future McLaren model, the Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo showcases the kind of car that McLaren could produce beyond 2030. Players will be able to choose from three liveries: Performance, Ulterior and Noir.
