The Concours of Elegance 2016 at Windsor Castle will be the biggest, most diverse and most glamorous iteration of the legendary international event yet. In a celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday, the Concours will bring together a larger selection of cars than ever, – almost 1000 over the course of the weekend – a broader array of features and a brand new supercar exhibit.

As ever, the main focus of the Concours of Elegance will be sixty of the world’s most incredible cars gathered from all corners of the globe in to the glorious quadrangle at Windsor Castle. But this year the Concours’ additional events, including the Club Trophy, Jaguar Trophy and Bentley Trophy of Elegance will gather together 90 cars each, in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday.

With the gracious permission of Her Majesty The Queen, the Concours is again visiting Windsor Castle, having held its debut event there in 2012 to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Further honouring Her Majesty, this year’s Concours will also star a selection of cars from 1926, the year of Her Majesty’s birth, and a line-up of revolutionary cars of the past 90 years – one from each decade.

This year’s Concours of Elegance will also have the broadest selection of cars ever, with a new feature lawn focusing on the latest supercars from legendary brands such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Aston Martin.

This year’s event will take place at Windsor Castle from the 2-4 September, preceded by an exclusive driving Tour for the Concours participants, which will take in some of the UK’s finest roads, before arriving at the Castle on 2 September.

Established in 2012, the inaugural Concours of Elegance was held within Windsor Castle to mark the diamond jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen’s reign.  Organised by Thorough Events, the first Concours of Elegance set a new global benchmark for a classic car concours; winning prestigious awards in the process; unheard of for a ‘start-up’ event in its first year.  The Concours of Elegance has continued to grow from strength to strength, collecting more accolades, tributes and endorsements along the way, with the exceptional settings of St James’s Palace in 2013, Hampton Court Palace in 2014 and Edinburgh’s Palace of Holyroodhouse in 2015.

Only the highest calibre of cars are invited to the Concours of Elegance, with the rarest cars in the world, from all over the world, painstakingly selected by the Concours Steering Committee; a respected team of authoritative historic car experts.  A key objective of the annual Concours of Elegance is to raise significant sums for charity.

Visitors to Concours of Elegance 2016 – held at Windsor Castle from 2-4 September –  will have the unique opportunity to see four of the remaining 1926 British Grand Prix cars in one place. In a celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday, the historic racing cars will be joined by a revolutionary British car from each decade of Her Majesty’s life. Organised by the Royal Automobile Club, the very first British Grand Prix took place at Brooklands Motor Circuit, Surrey, in the year of Her Majesty The Queen’s birth, 1926. A total of 11 cars took part, with just three finishing the race, and Concours of Elegance 2016 will mark the first time that this many competitors have gathered since the race 90 years ago. Staff

More than 1,200 Jaguars kicked off a summer of celebration in style on 6 May, as Windsor Castle opened its gates to some of the world’s rarest and most desirable models in Jaguar’s history for the Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival, in support of The Prince Philip Trust Fund. The Jaguar Classic-supported Festival was organized by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club following an invitation from the Prince Philip Trust Fund. In a display of automotive excellence, more than 150 Bentleys will grace the grounds of Windsor Castle at this year’s Concours of Elegance (2-4 September). Now in its fifth year, the Concours of Elegance has established itself as one of the world’s most prestigious motoring gatherings, convening the finest cars at Britain’s stunning Royal palaces. As a key partner of the Concours, Bentley will be presenting a range of models from its past and present – from the famous 1930 Six-Speed Van den Plas Tourer ‘Old Number 2’ (which won the Brooklands Double 12), to the new Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase and Bentayga.
