Twenty Second Annual All British Swap Meet and Autojumble, Illinois
DuPage County Fairgrounds 2015 Manchester Rd, WheatonSince 1997 the CMGC swap meet has been held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois. Both the content and the gate admission has been increasing yearly (with the exception of one very bad snow storm in 2007). After many years of being held in late February, the Swap Meet will henceforth be held on the third Sunday in March. This switch should increase the odds of good weather and will also result in improved parking availability most years. There is no change or alteration to the actual site or layout, so vendors and customers alike will find a familiar situation when they arrive. Vendor registration will be conducted as usual
31st Annual Chicagoland British Car Festival
Harper College 1200 West Algonquin Road, PalatineOne of the largest and most entertaining British car events in the U.S. It’s expected that more than 500 classic British cars will be on display and over 2,000 people will attend the 2017 edition of the Chicagoland British Car Festival. The festival features, authentic British food, entertainment, technical learning sessions, car merchandise giveaways, classic car parts vendors, and examples of the latest automobile imports from Great Britain. Following last year’s fun and spectator enthusiasm, valve cover racing - a quirky gravity-propelled competition - returns to the festival for 2017. Admission for the general public is free, with donations encouraged for Shelter, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing community-based, emergency and longer-term housing for abused and neglected children. www.shelter-inc.org.
