Hagerty‘s Festival of the Unexceptional will return to Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire on Saturday, July 17, 2027. Tickets for the 13th running of the mundane motoring extravaganza are already on sale, and for the first time in the event’s history, camping is available within the castle grounds.

The Festival of the Unexceptional attracts owners and enthusiasts of mundane motors from around the world and has become an annual pilgrimage for those who admire the brilliance of basic. Tickets sold out for the last festival, and Hagerty says early bird reduced-price tickets for 2027 were snapped up before the official announcement, so those seeking an Unexceptional treat are encouraged to act fast.
“Every year our guests say Festival of the Unexceptional is the best it can be, but that just encourages us to make it even better,” says Mark Roper, Managing Director of Hagerty UK. “After many years of requests for camping, we now have a very exceptional place to camp allowing a relaxing start to the 2027 Festival and the rush for tickets is on – our early bird reduced price tickets sold out before we could make an official announcement!”
The new Exceptional Camping option offers pitches for the Friday night ahead of the main event. Priced at £75 for up to two adults and two children, the campsite opens at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 16 and closes at 7:00 PM on Saturday, with motorhomes, caravans and tents all welcome. The pitch price includes live music, a licensed bar, food outlets and early car positioning within the show.
For 2027, the Concours de L’Ordinaire welcomes concours and display cars registered between 1972 and 2002, which means new style 02 and 52 plate cars are now eligible. Expert judges will look for the quirkiest, most charming and true-to-original examples of unexceptional classics.
Car and driver tickets are priced at £27, or £20.25 for Hagerty Drivers Club members, with additional adult tickets at the same rates and children under 15 admitted free. A special hospitality area is reserved for Hagerty Drivers Club members, with a small number of non-member tickets at £20 per person including private seating, a free drink from the licensed bar and complimentary refreshments. Children go free with a paying adult.
