Jaguar Debuts All Aluminum Lineup at NY Auto Show

Jaguar comes to the 2015 New York International Auto Show to showcase its complete aluminum-intensive model year line up. Making their New York City debuts, the all-new Jaguar XF, XE, 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe and S Manual Transmission vehicles will be on display for press review April 1-2, 2015, and available during the public show days from April 3-12, 2015. With the addition of the new Jaguar XF the Jaguar lineup is entirely aluminum focused.

New Jaguar XF

2016 Jaguar XF

First launched in North America in 2008 and receiving a complete redesign for the 2016 model year, the next-generation Jaguar XF will be the second Jaguar model to feature the brand’s advanced aluminum-intensive architecture.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, said, “I believe the all-new Jaguar XF will be the best looking car in its class. Elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity – the all-new XF will be true to the strong tradition of sporting Jaguar sedans while being completely of its time.”

The sophisticated all-new XF offers exceptional levels of technology, refinement, luxury and comfort. Sales begin in Q4 of 2015.

2016 Jaguar F-TYPE

The 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE receives new powertrain and driveline options, including a manual transmission option, All-Wheel Drive® (AWD), and a new 550hp R Convertible. The fundamentals continue to remain true to the core DNA of Jaguar vehicles: lightweight construction, refined power, perfect proportions and outstanding design.

The six-speed manual transmission in the F-TYPE has been designed to for enthusiasts and purists. The combination of the free-revving supercharged V6 and a precise, perfectly-weighted shift delivers motoring brilliance. Jaguar has integrated a highly efficient six-speed ZF® transmission into the lightweight aluminum body structure of the F-TYPE. This manual transmission is matched exclusively to the rear-wheel drive 340hp and 380hp V6 powertrains.

The 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE will also have the addition of Instinctive All-Wheel Drive as standard equipment on R models and an option on S models. Pricing begins at $65,000.

2016 Jaguar XE

The Jaguar XE redefines the concept of the sports sedan and will be the driver’s car in its class. Its lightweight construction, streamlined styling, luxurious interior and outstanding ride and handling are a testament to company founder Sir William Lyons’ vision: “The car is the closest thing we will ever create to something that is alive.”

The rear-drive XE is the only vehicle in its class to use an aluminum-intensive chassis. This extremely robust yet light structure, together with double wishbone front suspension and an Integral Link rear axle, is fundamental to the XE’s innovative benchmark vehicle dynamics.

2015 Jaguar XJ

The Jaguar XJ delivers the quintessence of British luxury, combining supercharged performance and cutting-edge construction technology with a nearly bespoke level of interior craftsmanship. The 2015 XJ range offers two wheelbase lengths, three supercharged engines, and Jaguar Instinctive All-Wheel Drive. The All-Wheel Drive system is teamed exclusively with the 340hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine. An active torque management system, Instinctive All-Wheel Drive offers a performance-oriented rear-drive bias and can shift power to the front wheels to either pre-empt or counter wheel slip. The range-topping XJR, available in both wheelbase lengths, exclusively features a 550hp supercharged V8. Pricing begins at $74,200.
