The Classic MG Club of Orlando invites MG lovers everywhere to Gathering of the Faithful South XLIX from April 17-19, 2015 at the historic Mission Inn in “Old Florida” Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Gear-heads of all brands are welcome to walk around and see over 100 MGs on display.

MG GOF Mk XLIX

“Gathering of the Faithful” (GoF) was coined in 1965 by the late Frank Churchill of the New England MG T Register as an event for MG owners to gather and meet other faithful MG owners. Now, GoFs are the premier MG events each year in four areas of the country: New England, Central, West, and South.

The Classic MG Club is the host of this year’s GoF South. The club, founded in 1963, is one of the most active MG clubs in the U.S. The first GoF South was three years later in 1966. Some of the founding members are still the most active in the club and provide a wealth of knowledge.

GoF South Mk XLIX is April 17-19, 2015 at the historic Mission Inn Resort and Club in the rolling countryside of Howey-in-the-Hills. The Spanish style Inn is over 50 years old. One of the golf courses on property was started in 1917. From golf and tennis to skeet shooting and hiking, this 1,200 acre resort has everything to make your stay a joy. The drive to the Inn on old-Florida back roads is beautiful – a perfect trip in your MG.

GoF South Mk XLIX is a weekend of pure MG exhilaration. You can relax and enjoy the sights and old friends, or go full-out and participate in all of the exciting activities … two car shows, tours and driving events, hands-on tech seminars, raffles and auctions, afternoon tea, hospitality center, awards banquet, and a lot of tall tales.

GoF South Mk XLIX is not just a car show. It is the culmination of almost fifty years of celebrating MGs. The Mission Inn is the perfect destination. The weekend will be a full emersion experience. It is the ultimate MG weekend in the Southern United States.

Longbridge has drastically cut its annual losses from over £12 million to just £392,000 as the rebirth of Birmingham’s most famous factory gathers pace. Results for MG Motor UK for 2010 showed that sales of parts to China had helped slash cash losses at the car firm, which launched production of the MG6, its first all-new MG, in April. Meanwhile, a capital injection of £7 million from the Chinese parent company also helped to bolster the firm’s financial status, the report revealed. The vastly improved results came as sales of Longbridge’s first all-new MG for 16 years generate increasing revenues for the Birmingham factory following the relaunch of volume production. The MG6 generated over £3 million of business in its first two weeks in showrooms, leaving many buyers facing a waiting list of up to six weeks for customized vehicles. […]
