Kat Kurkov – Photography & Show Reporter
Kat Kurkov started with cars at an early age much to the chagrin of her “cars are for transportation- if you can’t walk or bike or walk” type parents. A Key paperback guide to imported cars was the only means of identifying all the cool cars out there. Her first love was a maroon MGB GT. When the reality of a first job set in she bought a very used/very rusted Renault LeCar (putting misspent years of high school French to the test). Then many cars followed. A near-ground-up restoration on her SO’s 1970 XKE was a blast. Much later a Discovery series II named SALTY (for the VIN and ability to chew up through Colorado snow) was a stalwart friend for almost 200 k miles. Currently, there are two MINIS – a convertible (Ennie Minnie), and a Clubman (Packman) share the driveway with a few of their “friends”. You can see more of Kat’s work at her site AutoAbstracts.
