SUMMARY:British Motoring Festival 2018 - Nova Scotia
DESCRIPTION:Since 2010\, the British Motoring Festival has been staged annually on the grounds of historic King’s Edgehill School in Windsor\, NS.  In 2018\, the Festival will run from Friday to Sunday\, July 13 to 15. \nThe Festival is a showpiece event of the British Automobile Touring Association of Nova Scotia (BATANS)\, a non-profit registered society.  Currently\, membership in BATANS numbers 271\, collectively accounting for 457 vehicles. \nThe event is an occasion for British car enthusiasts to showcase their vehicles\, both classic and modern. In 2017\, 128 participants presented a total of 146 British cars and motorcycles.  Most came from the Atlantic Provinces\, with a few who made it from New England and Ontario.  We also welcomed approximately 800 public spectators who came on Saturday’s open day to view the cars and to speak to their owners. \nWeather and circumstances permitting\, the public will have an opportunity on Friday\, July 13 to preview a selection of Festival vehicles during an evening Street Party at the location of The Spitfire Arms in downtown Windsor. On Saturday\, July 14\, the proceedings at King’s Edgehill School will be open to the public. \nRegistered Festival participants will convene at KES Saturday evening for an Awards Banquet\, and for breakfast Sunday morning at The Spitfire Arms. \nAs in past years\, prizes will be awarded in 2018 for cars that are deemed to represent the best of several categories.  Festival organizers are also planning special activities to entertain young and old alike.  Vendors will be on hand to dispense food and beverages. \nVisit the BMF website for regular updates.  Watch for Facebook and Instagram accounts that will soon be up and running.

Today\, together with the MINI USA team\, we are delivering on that promise and it is going to be an epic adventure.\n— Thomas Felbermair\, Vice President\, MINI Americas Region \nIn 2016\, MINI owners rallied with a purpose\, making an epic 14-day\, 4\,397-mile adventure that started at Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 9 and ending at The Thermal Club in Palm Springs\, Calif.\, all in the name of raising money to #DefyHunger with charity partner Feeding America. By the time the rally had come to a close at the Thermal Club\, the group had raised enough money to provide more than one million meals to help people facing hunger though their fundraising efforts\, easily topping the initial goal of 800\,000 meals. DESCRIPTION:One of the highlights of Grand Prix Race Weekend in Schenley Park is British Car Day\, sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Triumph Association (WPTA). It features over 500 of England’s best sport and luxury automobiles. 2018 will mark the 38th year of this great event and the 31st year that it has taken place in conjunction with the PVGP in Schenley Park. During that time the WPTA has raised $151\,000 for the Grand Prix charities! \nLocated in the middle of the golf course it is the anchor of our International Car Show. British Car Day is the largest annual British-only car show in Pennsylvania whose proceeds have always been contributed to charity. The WPTA’s British Car Day was first held at Hartwood Acres from 1981 to 1986. In joining the Grand Prix in 1987\, an immediate synergy was evident. That relationship has continued to be a huge success with each event complimenting the other.

DESCRIPTION:On Friday and Saturday\, July 20-21 the VSCCA will be hosting the inaugural White Mountain Vintage Grand Prix and the long-anticipated track in Tamworth\, NH. A 2.5-mile version of Watkins Glen is a good comparison. Having driven it I can tell you it is a fantastic course. \nThe event will be open to pre-war MGs\, T Series and MGAs in keeping with the VSCCA car eligibility. Due to local ordinance\, it is a muffled event (90db limit) and cars must run period-correct tires (no Hoosiers or slicks). \nOn Sunday\, July 22 Nick Grewal will be hosting a concours on his farm in Sanbornton\, NH as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs. There will be a race car class. Car entry is expected to be only $15-20.
