Just like our beloved MINI’s have evolved into more than just a car to us. So you take the 11-mile stretch of road\, then you toss in the mountains\, country roads and waterfalls. Now add 600 to 1000 fellow MINIacs and it takes on a whole new meaning. SUMMARY:37th Annual British Car Day - Charleston\, SC
DESCRIPTION:Charleston’s long-running British Car Day attracts British cars from Florida to Ohio. The show is on a grassed field surrounded by Live Oak trees. The show attracts cars from a 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost to a 2018 McLaren 720S along with Triumph’s\, MG’s\, Austin Healey’s\, Aston Martin’s\, Jaguar’s\, Bentley’s\, and British motorcycles. We have a Spotlight Margue this year\, the Morgan. We are planning a very special Welcome Reception the day before the show\, so come early! \nTour and Reception \nFor those who arrive early\, we have a full Friday of events planned. Friday will start at 11 am with a meet-up at the McLeod Plantation. We’ll then take a drive through some of the most scenic parts of Charleston. Then starting at 1 pm you can go to a traditional English tea. Then at 3 pm\, you can take a tour of McLeod Plantation. The Evening Welcome Reception runs from 5 pm to 9 pm and is included for two with your British Car Day registration. \nYour registration to British Car Day includes two attending the Friday evening Welcome Reception. The reception will be at the pavilion at McLeod Plantation on James Island. Click here to see more pictures. The Welcome Reception will be from 5 to 9 pm. There will be a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.

We hope you choose a few of these adventures to partake in! \nTwo Hour Road Trips: Friday morning \nSeveral local driving routes have been identified to provide Summer Tour 2022 (ST22) an excuse to explore Idaho’s back roads. Enjoy the scenery and learn about Idaho’s local history while exercising your Brit car. Route information will be available when you check-in for ST22 on Thursday\, June 23rd. \nCampbell Tilapia Fish Farm Tour: Friday\, June 24\, 10 am \nDon and Diana Campbell\, longtime and generous IBCC members\, own and operate a Tilapia fish farm near Buhl\, Idaho. Don will provide an informative and interesting tour of his operation for up to 25 people. You can sign up to be a part of this one-of-a-kind event hosted by one of our own members on Thursday evening at the Welcome Reception. \nFriday Lunch Options @ Lower Salmon Falls Park Pavilion: \nOpt-in for lunch Friday on your registration sheet. Each person can order a box lunch available after the aforementioned Friday morning events. Choose between pastrami\, chicken\, or veggie wrap on your registration form. Your wrap will come with fresh vegetable sticks\, fruit\, chips\, and a homemade cookie. Your lunch also includes bottled water. \nIdaho Raft Trip! Friday\, 1 pm \nA licensed guide will take us on a three-hour float trip on the Snake River with Class II and Class III rapids. Enjoy great rapids\, beautiful scenery\, and even the occasional Idaho wildlife. All necessary equipment is provided along with transportation back to your vehicle at the park\, where you will also find restrooms for changing out of your wet attire and into dry clothes. Sign up for this fun trip on your registration form. \nMotorboat Tours: Friday\, 12pm\, 1pm\, 2pm\, 3pm or 4pm \nDeparting from the park above the Lower Salmon Falls Dam you will enjoy a 45-minute trip viewing the scenery and wildlife with an experienced guide. The boat holds 12\, so sign up for your trip on your registration form. When you check in on Thursday\, June 23rd\, you will sign up for the start time of your boat tour. \nDinner: Dutch Oven Barbecue\, Friday\, 5 pm \nCome and enjoy a country barbecue dinner alongside your fellow ST22 attendees. On the menu are grilled season steak\, teriyaki chicken\, dutch oven potatoes and baked beans\, green salad\, fruit\, and a variety of Dutch oven cobblers. Your meal will also include lemonade or water. This is a BYOB event and the caterer is kindly providing ice chests for use. Sign up for this dinner on the registration form. \nSATURDAY\, JUNE 25th :\nThe ST22 Car Show will be held at the Twin Falls City Park from 9:00 am – 2 pm. \nWe will meet at 8:30 am at the park\, outline spacing assignments\, etc. There is a plan for a food truck and volunteers will be doing raffle ticket sales to benefit the Children’s Museum of the Magic Valley. \nST22 Banquet: Saturday\, 5:30 pm\, Canyon Crest Convention Center \nThe evening begins with a no-host bar with a dinner buffet at 6:30 pm. Your dinner choices are seared flank steak with a mushroom reduction or garlic shrimp with saffron rice pilaf. Both entrees are gluten-free. Please make your selection of entrees on your registration form. Also included in the dinner buffet are tomato basil\, curry lentil\, potato chowder\, tortilla vegetable soups\, garden and Caesar salads\, and various chef-selected starch\, vegetable\, and dessert options. DESCRIPTION:The MG Car Club – Rocky Mountain Centre invites you to join us for the 70th Annual Rallye Glenwood Springs\, the oldest\, continually held\,time-speed-distance rally in the United States\, on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday\, June 10\, 11\, and 12\, 2022. This year’s rallye is being held in honor of the Platinum Jubilee of her Majesty the Queen. \nThe weekend is a marvelous opportunity\, not just for MG owners\, but for sports car enthusiasts of every marque (British\, American\, German\, Italian\, Asian to come together for sunny days\, cool nights\, and unique events in Glenwood Springs. The fun begins on Friday with the more rigorous time-speed-distance rallye designed to challenge both novice and experienced rallyists. The rallye departs from Gunther Toody’s Restaurant in Littleton\, CO\, runs through canyons and over mountain passes in the heart of the Rocky Mountains\, and finishes in Glenwood Springs. \nSaturday’s main event is the ‘Many Miles’ Tour which starts and finishes in Glenwood Springs. On the way\, you will enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery Colorado has to offer. \nThe weekend’s activities round out with the Car Show\, Funkhana\, and Awards Presentation on Sunday. \nYour registration package contains a raffle ticket. Make sure you bring it to the car show on Sunday to be eligible for door prizes. \nSince its inception\, the MGCC-RMC has sponsored the Rallye\, which began when a hardy group of sports car owners\, led by Mrs. Hazel Marble\, discovered the joys of motoring in Colorado in MGs that still had drop-down tops and running boards. \nVintage and classic cars from as far away as California and Connecticut have shared the twisting mountain roads with their newer counterparts for octane-related festivities. DESCRIPTION:The ABRR is based on UK Reliability Runs that benefit children’s charities in England. Begun in 2002 by Blake Discher of Detroit with help from John Macartney (In the Shadow of My Father\, Turn Left at the Pacific)\, America’s British Reliability Run is a challenging\, but fun\, driving event that so far has raised more than $300\,000 for worthy children’s charities. Carried on by the Delaware Valley Triumph Club of PA since 2008\, the ABRR spirit is now spreading throughout the USA with multiple regional runs. \nThe ABRR is not a race. The run is conducted on public roads at posted speeds. It is not a road rally either\, as there are no checkpoints or deliberately vague and misleading instructions. The ABRR Teams travel in groups\, taking care to keep the cars together\, making group stops as necessary. The ABRR is a great fall drive on rural paved roads through beautiful countryside in the company of fellow British car friends. All done for a good cause as the only competition is how much each ABRR Team raises for the kids! \nNOTE: The date listed is for the Pennsylvania edition of the run. DESCRIPTION:The CTBRR is back! The run will be held on September 17th through 19. The Connecticut British Reliability Run for 2021 will be back to the original formula of a 3 day run touring around a central location. The run will start in Farmington\, Connecticut\, and tour north to Glens Falls\, NY on Friday. Saturday we will head east thru Vermont and circle back to Glens Falls. Sunday we will take the scenic route back to northwestern Connecticut. Details can be found on the “The Run” tab. \nThis year there will be an option to join for a one-day tour on Friday. The one-day tour will follow along with the rest of the tour to the lunch break and head back home in the afternoon. The one-day run provides an introduction to the Reliability Format without the three-day commitment. As one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States\, Boston Children’s offers a complete range of health care services for children from birth through 21 years of age.

DESCRIPTION:Andy Holliday\, 2021 Convention Chairman\, would like to extend his personal invitation to all triumph enthusiasts to join COVTR and Green Country Triumphs in its celebration of the great Rt 66 and its legacy in Oklahoma.  The host hotel will be the Hilton Garden Inn of Edmond just north of the current Route 66 by about 3 miles. \nThe organizers have planned to incorporate as many events as they can so that everyone can explore what Oklahoma has to offer. There will be the usual gimmick rally\, autocross\, funkana\, and concourse but they are also planning on doing a walking tour of the local area and a simple TSD rally that requires no experience or calculators to compete in.  There will be a craft\, photo\, and model contest as usual with awards for all events. \nAll participants will have multiple opportunities to enjoy the local fare with two evenings of dinner runs and at least one breakfast run.  We are hoping for a fun-filled three days in the Oklahoma sun enjoying some top-down driving through the countryside.

SUMMARY:The Great Race 2021 - Texas to South Carolina
DESCRIPTION:The Great Race is an antique\, vintage\, and collector car competitive controlled-speed endurance road rally on public highways. It is not a test of top speed. It is a test of a driver/navigator team’s ability to follow precise course instructions and the cars (and teams) ability to endure on a cross-country trip. The course instructions require the competing teams to drive at or below the posted speed limits at all times. \n \nEach day the driver and navigator team receives a set of course instructions that indicate every turn\, speed change\, stop\, and start that the team must make throughout the day (usually 220 to 250 such instructions per day). Along the course route\, there will be from 4 to 7 checkpoints recording the exact time that the team passes that point. The objective is to arrive at each checkpoint at the correct time\, not the fastest. The score for each team is the result of the team’s ability to follow the designated course instructions precisely. Every second off the perfect time (early or late) at each checkpoint is a penalty point. This format is much more mentally demanding than a flat-out cross-country race. Also\, GPS or computers are not permitted and odometers are taped over. This is a test of human mental agility and endurance as well as classic car endurance\, rather than programming capability. The course avoids timed segments on interstate highways\, opting instead for scenic local\, county\, and state highways whenever possible through some of the prettiest country in the United States. \n

DESCRIPTION:The 14th Annual Highlands Motoring Festival returns this June 2021. This is a friendly event that appeals to everyone. \nCheck out the full schedule of events. \nThe focus\, of course\, is the field of over 75+ high-quality invited classic cars. Owners of their collector pieces have gone to considerable effort and expense to put these cars on the show field for all to enjoy. An eclectic field of entries will ensure that there is something for everyone. \nThis is a local non-profit festival. Over the years\, the net proceeds have gone to many different charities. This year REACH of Macon County\, Literacy Council of Highlands\, and the Community Care Clinic have been selected as charity partners. Spectator entry to the show field is free\, but a contribution to our charities is appreciated. \nHighlands Motoring Festival Committee and The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts are excited to announce CELEBRATE ART + AUTOMOBILE\, their collaboration on a unique series of events for the 2021 season. The cornerstones of this celebration are a special exhibition at the Bascom from May 11 – August 21\, and the Highlands Motoring Festival June 10 – 13\, 2021. \n \nThe special exhibition in The Bascom’s Bunzl Gallery\, “FreeWheeling – the Allure of the Automobile in Contemporary Art”\, will feature works of renowned international automotive artists\, including canvas\, paper\, and sculpture. Additionally\, there will be a rotating display of extremely rare and special automobiles in the Gallery that is a testament to the concept of the automobile itself as art.

SUMMARY:25th Annual British Car Week
DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 25th British Car Week\, first initiated when Mr. Peter Egan published his classic story in his Side Glances column\, titled “Seldom Seen Cars” in the March 1997 edition of Road & Track magazine. In his story\, he shared his then-recent thoughts about reminiscing in the dentist’s chair with his mouth full of gauze. After all\, what else is there to do? He was thinking about what has happened to all of the old cars he used to enjoy seeing on the roads in his local town. He thought about the times when he would regularly see classic marques such as Morgan\, MG\, Jaguar\, Porsche\, Triumph\, and even the likes of an old Woodie Wagon on the streets of his community. \nThe above story is what inspired the creation of British Car Week. With the thought of having a target week for all British car owners to get their cars out of storage and get them prepped for the upcoming driving season. If all goes as planned\, they would then take their cars out for a drive within their communities to enable others to enjoy them as they drive by. These classics are a sight to behold and appreciated whenever they are spotted driving by. It is no secret they are even rarer today than when Peter originally wrote his article twenty-five years ago. With so many rapid changes occurring within the automobile industry today\, we can only hope that older model classic cars will continue to be permitted on the roads for many years to come. \nThanks to all of the enthusiastic owners of classic British cars\, we continue to keep our hobby going. With 2020 now behind us\, we can now have hope that 2021 will be a better year for all and that we will soon be rekindling our friendships with other British car enthusiasts at events. \nSo be sure to top-off your dashpots\, and plan a drive during British Car Week 2021!

SUMMARY:British Motorcar Festival 2019 - Rhode Island
DESCRIPTION:Colt State Park\, Bristol\, Rhode Island will host the 5th annual “British Motorcar Festival” on June 7th – 8th 2019.  The Main Event is Saturday\, June 8th which features one of only two All British Concours d’Elegance Competitions in the USA (Judged Competition for British show cars 25 yrs old and older) (the 2nd is the British Invasion in Stowe\, Vermont in September  (http://britishinvasion.com)\, plus the British Classic Motorcar Show (People’s Choice)\, the Race Car Paddock (a Collection of British Race Cars). The Concours will also present a “Preservation Class.”  Full details are posted on our website. We also present the British Car Corral (Cars For Sale)\, the British Attire Competition\, the Queen’s Court featuring the Ladies Hat Competition\, the British Marketplace featuring Automotive Spares and Accessories. Add to this Food & Drink\, and British Invasion Music.  To complete Saturday activities we will feature a dinner at the Bristol Yacht Club\, vintage attire optional\, with a display of invited British Motorcars on the lawn. \nThe “Explore Bristol” will be host a British Street Party at Independence Park on Friday evening from 6:30 till 9:30 PM with music\, food and beverage\, and reserved parking for British Motorcars in downtown Bristol. \nBut why not get an early start on the weekend?  Friday Morning will feature the “Hidden Highway Road Tour” which is open to Car Show Registrants and will feature rural coastal and back roads of Rhode Island with a stop for lunch and features a display of British Motorcars on tour.  Special Collector Edition Rally Plate for Entrants.  Optional dinner on Thursday evening at the Lobster Pot on Narragansett Bay. \nGeneral Admission for the Pubic is $10 on Saturday\, Friday at Independence Park is FREE.  Car Show Registrants and Vendors can download a complete registration package at www.britishmotorcarfestival.com
