DESCRIPTION:WEEKEND CELEBRATION AND SALUTE TO THE GREAT BRITISH MOTORCAR AND BRITISH LIFESTYLE\nBritish Invasion XXX\, September 10-12th\, 2021 (“A Jolly Good Time”) The British Invasion is a weekend celebration of all things British. Annually we attract 550-650 British Cars from Canada and the eastern United States. The Town of Stowe welcomes the “Invaders” with a Big Main Street Party on Friday evening with a live band from 6:30-9:30 PM. \nSaturday is the Concours d’Elegance (Judged)\, the British Classic (People’s Choice)\, a Car Corral\, British Vendors\, Ladies Hat Competition with awards presented by our very own “Queen”\, Food and British Invasion Music. Saturday also features the “British Attire Competition\,” which is open to Car Show Registrants & Guests\, and the General Public\, where our roving judges seek out the most original and most interesting British Dressed attendees with awards issued in several categories. \nSunday starts with a 70 minute morning run over Smuggler’s Notch and the back roads for the Car Show Registrants. Meanwhile\, back at the show field\, we feature a driving review of the Saturday Winners\, a Competition of Colors (British Motorcars parked by COLOR)\, and a Tailgate Picnic Competition\, and more. Car Club Display Award. Gates open to the public at 9:00 AM Saturday and Sunday. \nGeneral Admission is $15 for a 2-day Pass or $10 for Sunday only. \n \nWe look forward to celebrating our 30th year with you this September! \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Bring Your British cars and motorcycles to the longest-running and largest ABFM in America. Join OVER 800 other British vehicle owners and share your interests with other enthusiasts. Replica cars made in England with British components (e.g. Panther) and specialty cars with British chassis and running gear (e.g. Arkley) are welcome\, as are British bodied cars with American engines\, including conversions. \nThe weekend kicks off with the Friday Welcome Party\, followed by the Saturday car show\, Guided walking tours\, Banquet\, Giant Slalom competition\, People’s Choice balloting\, live music performances\, Arts\, Crafts & Photo Contest\, Film Festival\, Scavenger Hunt for the Kiddos\, Best in Show designation and a Land Rover Adventure Ride. Sunday’s activities include a Rallye\, swap meet\, and more fun on the PIR track in the Giant Slalom. \nPeople’s Choice ballots are cast for more than 80 classes of British cars\, which are owned and driven by club members from more than 30 British car clubs across the U.S. and Canada–a truly international event! Attendees can leave with not only good memories but mementos and memorabilia as well\, after a stop in the Regalia Tent. \nWe anticipate a good showing with Aston Martins plus a dozen Rolls-Royce and Bentley Automobiles. This year the event salutes 60 years of the Mini. DESCRIPTION:The Connecticut MG Club’s “BRITISH BY THE SEA” is a fun gathering of people who own and appreciate British Vehicles of all Marques. Although we do present etched glass mug awards to vehicles selected by popular vote\, “BRITISH BY THE SEA” is not a judged show. We want to encourage ALL British car\, truck\, and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts to attend and have an enjoyable time. Whether your vehicle is in pristine condition\, or a daily driver\, sparkling paint and chrome or with “Barn Fresh” patina\, it deserves to be part of the event and on the display field. \nThe Featured Marque for this year’s 33rd annual British By The Sea will be “The Outstanding Engineering of Modified MGs“. \nAs usual\, our Featured Marque will Be prominently displayed in the front row and will have generous room to display the vehicles along with any club tents for memorabilia and hospitality. \nOur BBTS Gathering is always scheduled on the first Sunday in June\, at the scenic 240 acre Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford\, Connecticut\, on the north shore of Long Island Sound. We want to encourage people to come down and enjoy a day mingling with other LBC owners\, talk about cars\, have a picnic\, a glass of wine\, and also take in all that Harkness Memorial State Park has to offer\, such as the beach\, the Mansion “Eolia”\, and the Gardens. The Connecticut MG Club donates a large percentage of our proceeds from BBTS to the Park to purchase plants for the West Gardens\, helping to restore the “Eolia” Gardens to their original grandeur as designed by Beatrix Farrand in 1919. In addition\, we provide “people power” over a few weekends to plant them. \nWe have selected a variety of quality food vendors to attend in order to satisfy any appetite\, from hot dogs and hamburgers\, lobster rolls\, deli sandwiches\, and wood-fired brick oven pizzas\, to Ice Cream for dessert. You can also bring a picnic to enjoy and share “out of the boot” of your car. \nThe expansive lawn areas offer ample room for the display of vehicles\, vendors\, spectator parking\, and a spacious area for trailer parking.

SUMMARY:The Great Race 2021 - Texas to South Carolina
DESCRIPTION:The Great Race is an antique\, vintage\, and collector car competitive controlled-speed endurance road rally on public highways. It is not a test of top speed. It is a test of a driver/navigator team’s ability to follow precise course instructions and the cars (and teams) ability to endure on a cross-country trip. The course instructions require the competing teams to drive at or below the posted speed limits at all times. \n \nEach day the driver and navigator team receives a set of course instructions that indicate every turn\, speed change\, stop\, and start that the team must make throughout the day (usually 220 to 250 such instructions per day). Along the course route\, there will be from 4 to 7 checkpoints recording the exact time that the team passes that point. The objective is to arrive at each checkpoint at the correct time\, not the fastest. The score for each team is the result of the team’s ability to follow the designated course instructions precisely. Every second off the perfect time (early or late) at each checkpoint is a penalty point. This format is much more mentally demanding than a flat-out cross-country race. Also\, GPS or computers are not permitted and odometers are taped over. This is a test of human mental agility and endurance as well as classic car endurance\, rather than programming capability. The course avoids timed segments on interstate highways\, opting instead for scenic local\, county\, and state highways whenever possible through some of the prettiest country in the United States. \n

DESCRIPTION:Registration for MG 2021 is now open!\nIn only a few months\, hundreds of MG enthusiasts from throughout the United States\, Canada\, and perhaps even a few other countries will be attending the sixth multi-Register gathering of the marque\, “MG 2021 International – Atlantic City”. This is a once-every-five-years event and is not to be missed. \nAs with prior “All MG” events\, there will be tech sessions\, driving events through scenic rural New Jersey\, chartered bus tours\, and register specific and combined register events. \n \nThe event will be based at Hannah’s – Atlantic City (overlooking Absecon Bay). \n \nThe Council is comprised of:\n– The North American MMM Register\n– The New England MGT Register\n– The North American MGA Register\n– The North American MGB Register \n

DESCRIPTION:Owners of the humble yet much-adored Mini\, in all its classic forms\, are invited to join in the celebration of that other iconic sixties British classic – the Jaguar E-type – at its 60th-anniversary event at Shelsley Walsh. \n \nThe two legendary cars often slug it out for the top spot in public votes on the Best British Car Ever\, but for the weekend of 12-13 June 2021\, any such rivalries will be put aside to celebrate 60 years since the launch of the E-type by reviving the cars\, music\, and fashion of the ‘Swinging Sixties’. \nOne of the unifying features of the event will be an homage to the 1969 film ‘The Italian Job’\, a movie that beautifully captured the mood\, energy\, and cars of the carefree decade. The actual E-type used in the film – repaired and restored since its rather one-sided fight with a Mafia bulldozer – will be on show alongside a trio of red\, white\, and blue Mini Coopers and the original six-wheeled coach\, rescued from the cliff edge. \nThe organizers are delighted to have support from Mini legend Paddy Hopkirk MBE\, whose relationship with the car started in 1963 with competitive racing on the Tour de France Automobile and the world-famous Monte Carlo Rally. \n \nAbout the Event\nOrganized by the Jaguar E-type Club\, E-TYPE 60 is celebrating 60 years since the launch of the E-type and the spectacular ‘Swinging Sixties’ and is the only event dedicated to the E-type and its anniversary. \nThe weekend will be action-packed with activity on the hillclimb each day and all day\, together with live entertainment focused on the 1960s and its outrageous trends. ​ \nCompetitive hillclimb classes\, cavalcades\, and demonstrations to include Mini and E-type. \nSpecial featured cars display to include the 9600 HP\, the original E-type press car and oldest Fixed-Head Coupé and 77 RW\, the first Open Two-Seater off the production line. Both were driven from the UK to the 1961 launch in Geneva. \nEvent Charity Partner: Hope for Tomorrow\nHope for Tomorrow is a dedicated charity\, bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs) which they provide to NHS Trusts across the country. During this global health crisis\, cancer patients are among the most vulnerable members of society. Hope for Tomorrow and their Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs) allow patients to receive their treatments in a local and safe environment. Each unit costs £198 per day to run. Personal 1-2-1 care is the focus of nursing staff\, creating a safe and secure environment that helps to reassure those receiving treatment. https://hopefortomorrow.org.uk \nShelsley Walsh Hill Climb\nShelsley Walsh is the oldest motorsport venue in the world still running events on its original course. Since 1905\, Shelsley Walsh has attracted world-famous drivers. Motor-racing legends\, including Stirling Moss\, Prince Bira of Siam\, Malcolm Campbell\, Hans Stuck Sr\, Raymond Mays\, Peter Collins\, and Henry Segrave have hurtled up the 1\,000 yard\, 1-in-6 gradient track. The start line\, the corners\, the views are essentially the same\, making it the jewel-in-the-crown of hill climbing. DESCRIPTION:The 14th Annual Highlands Motoring Festival returns this June 2021. This is a friendly event that appeals to everyone. \nCheck out the full schedule of events. \nThe focus\, of course\, is the field of over 75+ high-quality invited classic cars. Owners of their collector pieces have gone to considerable effort and expense to put these cars on the show field for all to enjoy. An eclectic field of entries will ensure that there is something for everyone. \nThis is a local non-profit festival. Over the years\, the net proceeds have gone to many different charities. This year REACH of Macon County\, Literacy Council of Highlands\, and the Community Care Clinic have been selected as charity partners. Spectator entry to the show field is free\, but a contribution to our charities is appreciated. \nHighlands Motoring Festival Committee and The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts are excited to announce CELEBRATE ART + AUTOMOBILE\, their collaboration on a unique series of events for the 2021 season. The cornerstones of this celebration are a special exhibition at the Bascom from May 11 – August 21\, and the Highlands Motoring Festival June 10 – 13\, 2021. \n \nThe special exhibition in The Bascom’s Bunzl Gallery\, “FreeWheeling – the Allure of the Automobile in Contemporary Art”\, will feature works of renowned international automotive artists\, including canvas\, paper\, and sculpture. Additionally\, there will be a rotating display of extremely rare and special automobiles in the Gallery that is a testament to the concept of the automobile itself as art.
