SUMMARY:Vintage Triumph Register National Convention 2017
DESCRIPTION:Please join the fun at the 2017 Vintage Triumph Register National Convention which takes place at Forrestal Village\, Princeton\, NJ. \nThe convention will be co-hosted by the Delaware Valley Triumph club and the New Jersey Triumph Association. This will be the 2nd time the DVT has acted as host for this National event. \nThe planning committee is working on many great back-road drives that are abundant in the area. Princeton itself is a short back-road drive to that historic town\, with its many restaurants\, pubs\, shops\, antique shops\, and off course\, the esteemed Princeton University. \nWhile the Concours and Participant’s Choice Car Show are a major part of the convention\, DVT and NJTA are “driving” clubs. We encourage all Triumph enthusiasts to bring a car-regardless of its condition. \nThe hotel is near major roads and interstates\, and very easy to get to. In the event you have to fly in\, Philadelphia Airport (PHL) and Newark Airport (EWR) are only about an hour away\, as well as the local Trenton Airport. \nThe Convention headquarters will be at the Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village. Located off major roads\, but easily accessed by back roads\, the hotel has all you would expect in major chain hotel; 300 rooms\, pool\, restaurant\, tennis courts\, etc. In addition\, current plans are for the Autocross\, Funkana\, LeMan’s Start\, Concours\, and Participant’s Choice Car Show to maybe be literally within walking-distance of the hotel\, using the hotel grounds. Tech sessions and other meetings will be at the hotel. The site also has several restaurants. \nReasons to Attend\n\nFunkana!\nGreat Mid-Atlantic and Northeast location!\nAutocross Challenge!\nLeMan’s Start!\nTSD\, Self-Guided Scenic\, and Gimmick Rallies\nTech Sessions!\nBreakfast Run\, Ice-Cream Run\, Dine-Around Run\, Microbrewery Run (and maybe a Cheesesteak drive!)\nNew activities to interest non-car participants!\n\nEvents: Welcome Reception: the convention kicks off in a big way with a Welcome Reception and BBQ sponsored by Delaware Valley Triumph and the New Jersey Triumph Association on the grounds of the Westin. \nAuction: This will be a charity auction were part of the proceeds (a minimum of 25%) will go to a designated charity. See how your Triumph stakes up against North America’s best. Compete against the VTR’s 400 point judging system. We encourage you to register for this event. \nParticipant’s Choice Car Show: Registrants select their favorite car in each class. All cars are welcomed. \nPanoramic Photo: It’s your chance to have your photo taken with all the VTR2017 participants. An outstanding memento. \nTSD (Time\, Speed\, Distance) Rallye: The perfect opportunity for you and your passenger to use your driving and navigational skills though our many back roads. \nGimmick Rallye: Still under construction\, but will be historically and regionally related. \nIce-Cream Run: A summer night\, top-down\, and off we go! What better way to spend the\nevening than to take a ride to one of the local ice-cream stands to cool off. \nBreakfast Tour: For those early risers among us\, the breakfast tour will give you the opportunity to get out on the many scenic roads surrounding the hotel\, for a breakfast\, or breakfast buffet. And maybe even a traditional Northeast Diner. \nSelf-Guided Tours: Enjoy the scenic countryside of New Jersey and Pennsylvania at your own pace to places such as Washington Crossing\, New Hope\, Lambertville\, Princeton University\, Gardens for Sculpture\, etc. We will have several back roads routes available for you to explore\, and enjoy. \nArt\, Craft\, Model\, and Photo Contest: The ever popular event returns again! Guest speaker will be Mike Cook\, and maybe another TBD. \nImportant Registration Information \nThe basic registration fee for $135.00 ($120.00 prior to June 15\, 2017) includes admittance to all events except for Awards Banquet\, Breakfast drives\, Ice-Cream drives\, and Dine-Around drives. The fee covers one driver in one car. VTR requires all non-VTR members pay an additional $35.00 fee for a one-year VTR Membership. One additional driver may be added for a $15.00 fee. Additional cars with the same driver(s) may be added to the base registration for $25.00 per car. \nThe Early Registration cutoff date is June 15\, 2017. You must register early to save the $15.00. To guarantee an Awards Banquet seat\, you must Pre-Register. Banquet reservations will accepted on-site only if space is available. All orders for VTR2017 Regalia are due by July 1\, 2017. SUMMARY:2017 Alden Car Show - Michigan
DESCRIPTION:The 18th annual Alden Classic Sports Car Show will be Aug. 13th\, 2017 in Alden\, Michigan. Located 25 miles NE of Traverse City in northwestern lower Michigan. This beautiful resort village welcomes over 100 sports cars for a weekend of touring\, car show\, and valve cover racing. Each entry is $15 with t-shirts to the first 50\, admission is free for spectators and valve cover racers! \nLodging is complimented in the region with wineries\, tasting rooms\, casinos\, breweries and hundreds of miles of great touring roads. A tour of the Torch Lake area is offered on Saturday with a dinner following. The tour highlights the region’s lakes\, rivers\, rolling hills and scenery that will not be soon forgotten. \nValve cover racing is also part of our unique and friendly show\, with trophies being awarded to the fastest valve cover racer. Clubs from throughout the Midwest offer challenges each year to the racers\, there is no fee to enter this contest. \nEach year we choose a special marque for a featured vehicle. The MGA has been chosen as the featured marque in 2017. We have had both types of weather. Mostly it has been SUNNY!. \nIf it does rain\, the shop keepers will be more than happy to shelter you until the sun comes back out. SUMMARY:British Car Day at Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
DESCRIPTION:One of the highlights of Grand Prix Race Weekend in Schenley Park is British Car Day\, sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Triumph Association (WPTA). It features over 500 of England’s best sport and luxury automobiles. 2017 will mark the 37th year of this great event and the 31st year that it has taken place in conjunction with the PVGP in Schenley Park. During that time the WPTA has raised $144\,000 for the Grand Prix charities! \n \nLocated in the middle of the golf course it is the anchor of our International Car Show. British Car Day is the largest annual British-only car show in Pennsylvania whose proceeds have always been contributed to charity. The WPTA’s British Car Day was first held at Hartwood Acres from 1981 to 1986. In joining the Grand Prix in 1987\, an immediate synergy was evident. That relationship has continued to be a huge success with each event complimenting the other.

DESCRIPTION:More than 200 vintage British sports cars will be on display when the British Motorcar Gathering is staged at Hellertown Reservoir Park\, just south of Bethlehem\, in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. \nThe annual show features finely restored MGs\, Triumphs\, Jaguars\, Austin-Healeys\, Morgans and Minis from every mid-Atlantic state. Classic British sports cars and sedans dating from the 1930s to present day will be displayed in a wooded setting\, with separate areas for each make of car. \nThose registered will choose the top three examples of each class and model of car\, with more than 50 awards to be made. There will also be a “Best of Show” award for the favorite car of the day\, and a “Diamond in the Rough” award\, given to a car which is still on its way to complete restoration. \nAll makes of British cars and motorcycles\, old and new\, are welcome. Show classes will be determined by the number of cars of each marque and model which pre-registered by May 31. At least three cars of a type must be pre-registered in order to be considered for a separate class. \nThe field opens at 9 a.m.\, with judging until 12:30 p.m. Catered food and drinks are available in a large picnic pavilion\, or bring your own picnic\, with events for children and music provided all day. \nThe British Motorcar Gathering will be held RAIN OR SHINE\, with no rain date. \nPre-registration is $15 by May 31.  Participants may register on the day of the show for $20. \nThe show is held rain or shine.  Spectators are asked for a $2 donation ($5 for a family).

In honor of this marque\, we will be featuring a very rare 1936 Jaguar SS 100 model which will be on display for all to enjoy. \nOur honored guest this year will be John Davis. John is an Emmy® Award-winning host\, executive producer\, and creator of MotorWeek\, television’s longest-running automotive series. He is one of the most trusted and recognized automotive journalists in the nation and will be available to talk with participants and car enthusiasts throughout the day. John will also be posing for photographs with participants’ vehicles and signing autographs and will present the Best in Show Award. \nOur event will be held from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the beautiful grounds of Lilypons Water Gardens. Come and enjoy this gathering of all British marques in one setting and the beauty of the water gardens. Bring your leashed pet and picnic lunch or partake of the food and drink offered by various food vendors. Whether you are displaying your car\, or just coming to enjoy the event\, the drive is beautiful no matter which direction you come from.

DESCRIPTION:The Connecticut MG Club’s “BRITISH BY THE SEA” is a fun gathering of people who own and appreciate British Vehicles of all Marques.  Although we do present etched glass mug awards to vehicles selected by popular vote\, “BRITISH BY THE SEA” is not a judged show. We want to encourage all British car\, truck\, and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts to attend and have an enjoyable time. Whether your vehicle is in pristine condition\, or a daily driver\, sparkling paint and chrome or with “Barn Fresh” patina\, it deserves to be part of the event and on the display field.This is going to be our \nThis is going to be our 30th-anniversary event\, and we want to make it Special!  The Featured Marque for this year’s 30th Anniversary British By The Sea is the Morris. As usual\, our Featured Marque will be prominently displayed in the front row and will have generous room to display the vehicles along with any club tents for memorabilia and hospitality. \nOur BBTS Gathering is always scheduled on the first Sunday in June\, at the scenic 240 acre Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford Ct.\, on the north shore of Long Island Sound. We want to encourage people to come down and enjoy a day mingling with other LBC owners\, talk about cars\, have a picnic\, a glass of wine\, and also take in all that Harkness Memorial State Park has to offer\, such as the beach\, the Mansion “Eolia”\, and the Gardens. The CT MG Club donates a large amount of our proceeds from BBTS to the Park to purchase plants for the West Gardens\, helping to restore the “Eolia” Gardens to their original grandeur as designed by Beatrix Farrand in 1919. In addition\, we provide “people power” over a few weekends to plant them.We have selected a variety of quality food vendors to attend in order to satisfy any appetite\, from hot dogs and hamburgers\, lobster rolls\, and \nWe have selected a variety of quality food vendors to attend in order to satisfy any appetite\, from hot dogs and hamburgers\, lobster rolls\, and wood fired brick oven pizzas\, to Ice Cream for desert.
