McLaren Special Operations, the bespoke division of McLaren Automotive, has announced the creation of the MSO Carbon Series LT. Strictly limited to 25 units globally – all already sold – and based on the 675LT Spider, the Carbon Series LT has been produced in response to requests from McLaren customers captivated by the visual carbon fibre bodied McLaren P1™displayed recently at the International Geneva Motor Show. Staying true to the ‘Longtail’ ethos, established by the McLaren F1 in the late 1990s, the MSO Carbon Series LT has been developed with a focus on light weight and optimised aerodynamic performance. Applying gloss carbon fibre to the entire body of the car further extends its appeal to bring a brutal beauty to the existing 675LT Spider body, showcasing the skills of the McLaren bespoke division.

Today the McLaren Sabre, an exclusive new McLaren Special Operations (MSO) bespoke commission hypercar, makes its public debut. McLaren Beverly Hills will hand over the keys to the first of 15 customers to take delivery of the Sabre, with each customer having participated in the development process.

Lighter, more powerful and with even higher levels of performance on both road and track, the McLaren 765LT is today revealed as the latest in a line of ‘Longtail’ McLarens and the most dynamically advanced and engaging LT model ever from McLaren Automotive. The 765LT opens a new chapter in the ‘Longtail’ story that began with the McLaren F1 GTR race car in the 1990s and since 2015 has seen road-legal LT models introduced. The new car elevates to new levels the attributes that underpin every LT: driver engagement, track-focused dynamics, minimized weight, optimized aerodynamics and increased power are all amplified – particularly the first two. The LT promise of being ‘limited to the few’ is also fulfilled, with just 765 individually numbered cars available globally for customer order.

Global sales for McLaren Automotive, the British creator of luxury sports cars and supercars, rose to 4,806 cars in 2018 with sales up 43.9 percent over the previous year. This is another record for the company which has increased sales every year since its formation in 2010.  North America, which represents McLaren’s biggest single market and over a third of global sales, surpassed the 5,000 cars sold mark since sales started in 2011 and achieved another year of record growth. European sales rose 44.2 percent but the biggest leap was seen in China at 122.5 percent growth following the introduction of the 570S Spider and 720S. China now accounts for almost 7 percent of the total global sales. McLaren’s UK domestic market remained strong, achieving a 49.2 percent year-on-year growth.

The McLaren 570GT MSO Cabbeen Collection made its North American debut at the annual Lunar New Year celebration hosted by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce’s Asian Business Connection Committee on Friday, February 1. The Collection of five bespoke McLaren 570GTs was originally unveiled at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show in China, and this additional, sixth and final 570GT was created specifically to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Los Angeles and is available exclusively through McLaren Beverly Hills.

Buyers who have secured a 600LT Coupé are now exploring the wide range of colors and options available using an advanced real-time configurator to complete their order in retailers – but anybody with internet access can build their own perfect ‘Longtail’ using McLaren’s online 2D configurator. The pioneering specification system allows you to view the 600LT in any of the 28 different body colors offered, three of which are newly introduced with the launch of the 600LT: Myan Orange, Chicane Effect (grey); and Luminaire (green). 14 of the paint colors are in an MSO Defined palette developed by McLaren Special Operations for the new ‘Longtail’.

McLaren Automotive is introducing a new service to authenticate the heritage of iconic McLaren F1 supercars. The launch of the new programme is coincident with the unveiling of the first F1 to be approved for certification, the renowned ‘25R’ 1997 F1 GTR Longtail. McLaren Automotive, the creator of luxury, high-performance sports cars and supercars, has for the first time ever donated a bespoke McLaren 570S Spider to the Elton John AIDS Foundation which was auctioned at the Argento Ball in association with BVLGARI & Bob and Tamar Manoukian on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Every pound of the $948,000 it raised will go to the Foundation to help with its goal of creating an AIDS-free future for everybody.  The ball took place at Elton John’s home, Woodside in Berkshire UK, with Graham Norton as master of ceremonies and a special performance by Ed Sheeran.
