Beaulieu to Celebrate DB7 Anniversary at Simply Aston Martin

Beaulieu’s new events season gets off to a stylish start with Simply Aston Martin on Sunday, April 7th as it marks the 25thanniversary of the DB7 going into production. More than 300 Aston Martins are expected to gather in the grounds of the National Motor Museum for the fourth Simply Aston Martin rally, with an impressive display to celebrate one of the world’s most revered sports car marques. A special area will be set aside for Aston Martin DB7s, from coupes to Volante convertibles powered by smooth six-cylinders to brutal V12 engines. An important landmark in the company’s history, the DB7 reintroduced the legendary ‘DB’ title after a two-decade break – and all are welcome to join the display.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 50th Anniversary at Beaulieu

To celebrate the golden half-century of one of the world’s favorite films Beaulieu is to launch its Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 50 years exhibition which can be seen in the National Motor Museum from October 20th. The exhibition will tell the story of Chitty as the star of the fantasmagorical family adventure and feature an original screen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Humber 8hp driven by Truly Scrumptious in the much-loved musical film.

A quick line and photo from the Spring Autojumble at Beaulieu this side of the pond. Last weekend the weather was good for the Beaulieu Spring Autojumble fo 19/ 20 May 2018. Thousands of people gathered to look for sought-after bits and pieces amongst the many trade stands. The photo was taken at lunchtime when many folk made for the benches in the shade of the oaks. The highlight drawing many people was the startup of the 1950 BRM V16 with a newly restored engine. Beaulieu will be celebrating 70 years of the nation’s favorite 4×4 with Simply Land Rover on Sunday June 24th, featuring a Land Rover-themed autojumble, off-road Forest Drive and hundreds of Land Rovers on show. For the first time, the rally will feature Simply Rummage, a one-stop shop for every Land Rover enthusiast where essential and hard-to-find spare parts and accessories will be bought, sold and swapped. Following in the footsteps of Land Rover Rummage, a well-established trading corner of Beaulieu’s Spring Autojumble, Simply Rummage will become a bargain-filled extra feature of Simply Land Rover marking the anniversary year.

Simply Jaguar at Beaulieu – Show Report

An impressive 282 Jaguars of every shape and size purred into Beaulieu for the second Simply Jaguar rally which attracted as many as 634 participants. The graceful ‘big cats’ gathered in the grounds of the National Motor Museum to join the display which ranged from post-war classics to the latest models of the legendary British motoring marque.

50th International Autojumble at Beaulieu

Beaulieu’s most famous event, the International Autojumble, will celebrate its 50th year on September 3rd and 4th with a special display to mark its half century. A 50-page commemorative booklet sharing event-goers’ stories, pictures and memorabilia from five decades of Beaulieu International Autojumbles will be given to this year’s exhibitors and put on sale for visitors. A special exhibition of those memories will also be displayed in the Corporate Marquee at the event along with a special collection of cars, from barn-finds to completed Autojumble projects.

Austin 7 Owners to Celebrate 50th Year at Beaulieu Rally

The 54th National Austin 7 Rally takes place at Beaulieu on Sunday 3rd July and holds one of the longest unbroken runs for a one-marque club using the same venue for its annual event. For one enthusiast the event will mark a particularly significant milestone. Bertie Fowler, who bought his first Austin 7 in 1966, will be attending his 50th rally. He purchased the 1936 ‘Nippy’ (one of the relatively few production sports models that Austin made) at the age of 19, negotiating the £90 deal in darkness by the Derby Grandstand at Epsom racecourse. It was, he says, ‘the best buy I ever made’.
